Stroller Recommendations...is the Baby Trend Expedition LX Any Good?

We recently purchased this Baby Trend brand 3-wheeled jogging stroller. Of course after I bought it, I read bad reviews of it on Babies R Us (mostly due to a wiggly front tire problem). Has anyone had a bad experience with this stroller? Or does anyone have any recommendations for inexpensive jogging strollers. We can't afford to spend too much on one. All this baby gear is really adding up! Thanks so much for any input!

What can I do next?

Yes, i totally agree, you can break the bank on baby gear if you feel the need to buy BOB's and Bugaboo's which i think are a total waste unless you are going to take it over sand snow and mud. 800 for a stroller.WHOA!! No thank you. I have this stroller you are talking about and I LOVE IT. Never had a problem with it and my first son lived in it since 6 nonths old. Never had issues witht he front wheel or any other part of it. Im acutally getting to upgrade to their double jogger for both my boys. Its the best bang for the buck. I would rather spend money on their education and more important things then what they are being carted in and wearing.

Good luck.....

I've had a BabyTred Expedition since Christmas of 07 and I've been completely happy with it! I have the one with the big fixed front wheel (not sure if you're talking about that or the one that can unlock and rotate).

I can't imagine any similar stroller being much better than this one. the basket is larg enough, the tether strap keeps it from getting away from you on a hill, theres and hand break (really comes in handy when going down hill). I have no complaints. My son likes it a lot. He's 3 now, so I only use it when I'm actually running or we're walking to the store or something that I don't think he'll make it on the walk back and I won't have an extra hand to pick him up.

Hope this helps.

I HAVE THE BEST JOGGER EVER!!! I have the Bob (brand) "Revolution" (model) and its the best ever! It is really easy to use, folds up perfectly, drives like a cadillac, it has the best shock absorbers and it glides like a dream! Love it love it love it! YOu can click the front wheel to not move or it can move depending on the surface and what you are doing. The wheels come off easy to fit in smaller compartments. It's just a dream I am telling you.

I have the Jeep jogger with the swivel front wheel--basic model from wal-mart.com--no ipod speakers. We have used the heck out of it in the past 2 years, and I love it! Right now, I am trying to decide what model double jogger that I can afford I like best, as we have a 22-month-old and a 5-month-old. The 5-month old is just about big enough to start moving from sling to stroller sometimes, and his sister still needs a stroller if I need her corralled, so it's time for a double. I wish Jeep made one, because none of the available to me double joggers has all the features of the Jeep single.

Check bike shops and spoting goods stores for refurbished joggers - also EBay and Craig's List. Is there a baby consignment store in your area? sometimes they have great gently used equipment and can tell you a lot about quality etc. We bought a baby trend travel system - the first one was missing parts from the box - we exchanged it for a 2nd which had a defective lock release so we took that back and bought an Evenflo. My poor hubby was schlepping all over the Bay Area to different Babies 'R Us stores to get a stroller & car seat set - our son was born 5 weeks early and we were caught unprepared. ;)

I have a baby trend jogger. I have loved it. I use to go roller blading with it when my oldest was younger. I lent it to my sister in law when I had my second and she had her first. I did get it back to go trail walking and I just put my youngest in a back pack. I have had it for over 3 years and love it still.

Hi A.,

Have you considered buying a really good stroller with a great reputation like a Phil and Teds or a BOB second hand? The Bugaboo is great and they offer three models Bee, Frog and Chameleon but they aren't three wheeled joggers. There are a LOT of these strollers out there on Craigslist.org You could also check Lullaby Lane Clearance. They have some really nice things that are marked down generally because they are overstock or last year's model. You could call them for recommendations also. Best of Luck.

Hi A.,
I don't know anything about the baby trend jogging stroller, but I have a recommendation if you decide to return it. I bought my jogging stroller from Costco.com and have been really happy with it. If you are a Costco member, you may want to check it out. It is a Go-Go Babyz Urban Advantage stroller. It is $149.99.

I have two complaints - (1) It doesn't have a hand brake (only a foot brake) so if you are going downhill, it is hard to slow down. (2) The child cupholder is too small for sippy cups. But other than that, it has been a great purchase. It is easy to maneuver, comfortable for the child, has parent cupholders, a large storage area, it reclines all the way for sleeping, and the front wheel locks for jogging and swivels for walking.
Hope that helps!
