Stroller Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend an attractive looking stroller? Not a travel system, but the next step up. I currently use on of those Snap & Go frames to hold the car seat but I'll soon need the next step up. I like the clean simple lines of some of the higher end strollers but not so much the price tag (Uppababy, MiaModa, Bugaboo). I'd like something that is easy to maneuver & easy to close/open.

The Combi - I could not live without it. It's super easy and lightweight. Why have a bulky travel system when you can hold baby and get the stroller out (with one hand) and have it open and ready to go!

We bought two strollers after retiring the gargantuan travel system. We bought a jeep stroller that was easy to manuver, light weight, and had lots of compartments for stuff.
Then we bought an inexpensive umbrella stroller. We ended up using the umbrella stroller more often because it was more compact, and much lighter. We kept the umbrella one in the car.

I loved my Peg Perego in the beginning because you could have the baby facing you or facing out (by switching the handle). But We really loved our Maclaren Techno (I think that is the one). My husband is tall and the handles adjust to a reasonable height so that he didn't have to bend over to push. lol
Also - the Maclaren fits up to 55 lbs, and since our 2 year old was 40+ inches, 40+ lbs we had to look for a stroller for "bigger" children.
We used it, and now friends are using it. It's in great condition.
GOOD LUCK

I like the maclaren strollers, nice, lightweight and comfortable. The upper end ones have more padding in the seats and the seat reclines for infants.

We bought an Inglesina brand stroller for our daughter and are still using it!! She is now 5 years old. It is a little more expensive but well worth it. As they say, "you get what you pay for". We called one time about the handle being a little bit wobbly and they sent us a brand new stroller at no charge to us...no questions! When we got it five years ago, we bought the Zippy model. So easy with the one hand open/close feature and very light/easy to carry. We were also able to put our own car seat on the stroller (comes with straps for that and instructions). The cover is removable if you want and I have washed the entire lining too. As I said, my daughter is now 5 and still rides in the stroller. The seat can lay all the way back and she likes to put a blanket over the top if we are going to be in the mall for a long time (becaomes her "tent") she either naps or plays her Leapster.....the seat part aslo folds out a bit to make it longer for when she lays down. This is saying something because my daughter is tall for her age (she is 45 3/4"). The bar in the front of the stroller is removable when the child is old enough and the seat part really is like a comfortable chair for them. Check it out here... www.inglesina.com and make sure you click on "english" and the model we have is "Zippy". I just looked and it looks like they have made some nice additions/improvements. Hope it works for you....

You need a BOB stroller!!!!! They are wonderful. Third front wheel locks for running or walking, increases length of wheel base giving MUCH more stability. Great recline, so easy to fold up and throw in your car. Only availabe in SA at Bloom Maternity, http://www.bloommaternity.net/bobstrollers.html

I used to have the Maclaren (Volo?)? It's a great high quality stroller that folds up really small. The airline broke it though when I was traveling. I'd been using it for 2 years. I thought I'd get something different after that b/c I didn't like that the Maclaren's basket wasn't big enough so I got the Peg Perego Aria, but it doesn't maneuver as well as the Maclaren. The basket on the Aria is great though.

I love my Mclaren XT. I have had it for five years now, through two boys. It is light weight, folds easily, and is incredibly durable. It also maneuvers easily on trails and through tight aisles at the store.

Go to stores and try them out! You will be surprised at the options and some can be reasonable. The price is worth it!! Kind of like pots and pans, you will use it alot. Especially if you have other children. I have two boys and always had second hand strollers which now looking back realize it would have been less stressful if I had splurged on the stroller and not so much on other stuff they grew out of more quickly.

Love our Quinny Buzz (in juice - color). It's sleek, compact, and convenient. Also, it opens via a hydraulic system. All you have to do it touch the handle and it opens. The seat, used for 6 months and up, rotates from front to back and lays down horizontally all the way. Before 6 months, the Maxi Cosi (matching) carseat attaches directly to the frame. The stroller is safe up to 50lbs, per their instruction manual. It has large rubber wheels in the back and full direction small wheels in front. It turns on a dime and is so smooth that it only takes one hand to maneuver. Although this stroller is $500, it's worth it. We plan on only using this one until he doesn't need it any longer. No need to buy multiple strollers. It can be found at USA Baby down at Westgate Village.

We're going with the quinny buzz. and it fits the maxicosi car seat. It might be a bit pricey, but it'll last us quite a few years so it pays for iself by us not buying a new stroller for every stage. It fold down and automatically opens, there's room in our car (volvo v40 tiny wagon) for the dog and the stroller. You can store or use the stroller seat that comes with it (it folds flat for infants). We pla to store it untill baby is out of the car seat. You can turn the seat around to look at baby too!

I have the MacLaren Techno XT and love it!!! It is very lightweight, but very sturdy, not rickety like some other high-end brands I looked at. Very easy to open/close, turns easily, folds very compactly, and looks cool. I've had it for almost 2 years and love it. It seems like the retail is somewhere around $300, but I got mine off eBay, brand new in the box, for $140. It took me about a month to win a bid that low compared to retail, but it was well worth the wait. I highly recommend using eBay, no matter what brand you decide on. Just be sure to check the sellers ratings. MacLaren has several styles, mine is the upper-end of the spectrum, and several of them are much less pricey.

After you figure out what you like (definately go to the stores and try them out- they all weigh differently, have different features- like one handed fold out/up, etc....) go to albeebaby.com and you can order a brand new stroller for way less than I have found at Target or Baby R Us. They even have high-end strollers for less.

I ordered a Peg Perego Aria (their light weight stroller that looks like a travel system stroller, but weighs only liek 8 lbs). I got it in less than a week and spent $100 less than I would have at Babies R Us.

My nieghbor has to comute and does a lot of walking. I had a travel system and togeather we looked for something smaller yet durable ( and affordable). We came with the Jeep stroller. It folds up realy small, but very durable, light weight and around 34-40.00. She bought hers from Walmart.com and even got it in a cute pink( there are lots of colors to choose fromm). Wal-mart sometimes offers free shipping ( sometimes), or you can just browse and go to the store.

Good luck

Depends how much time your little one will be spending in the stroller. We are on assignment in Tokyo and have been through 3 strollers looking for the right one. We initially brought our Graco but it turned out to be hopeless up and down stairs and escalators (which is a no no but there is no way around it in a big city). Our daughter loves this one for cruising the mall though. We then bought a MacLaren. MacLaren was great for portability etc but our little girl looked miserable and wouldn't nap. It is not a comfortable ride over uneven surfaces and there is no bar or snack tray. Then we found "the" stroller. It was super pricey but we LOVE it and so does our baby. The Stokke Xplory. She sits up high - so she isn't getting jostled about at everyone's knees in crowds. It manuevers like a dream. You can get up and down stairs easily because the front wheels fold in making it like a dolly. It faces forwards or backwards and it has tons of storage. She falls asleep and naps and when she does I can recline her back. When she's awake she can see much more around her - I can even push it up to a table at a restaurant. It is wide though and I can't get into alot of shops here with it - no big deal, I just plan around that. If you have a new born it also has a bassinett - that would have been great for us. So, if you are thinking about spending a house note on a stroller...lol check out the Stokke.

I love my Peg Perego P3(cost around $280.00). I have two children now so I have a double stroller, but will not give my Peg up for anything. Great storage room, lightweight and easy to fold. I would go and look at them I think they sell them at babiesrus.

For a smaller stroller (i.e. close to umbrella sized, but nice), we really like our Peg Perego Pliko Lite. It doesn't take up much room in the back of the car and it's really nice for the money.

For a larger stroller, check out the bumbleride brand. They have several different styles and are similar looking to the Bugaboo, only a lot cheaper.
