Hi Everyone.
I am currently researching lightweight strollers. I am looking at Maclaren, Chicco and Baby Planet. Can anyone make a recommendation based on experience. I want something that weighs no more than 10-15 lbs. Thanks as always.

What can I do next?

We have the MacLaren Volo - it was around $100, weighs about 9 pounds. We took it to Disney and it was SO worth it, when the busses were crowded we could just tuck it under the seat, and it was simple to open and fold quickly. The hitch is that there is not a lot of storage, just the underneath, and no cupholder. I haven't done it but perhaps you can buy one of the aftermarket cupholders and connect it. Also my 3 year old sits in it with no problem, and while she is on the smaller side, doesn't look like she would outgrow it anytime soon.

I have a McClaren and I love it. I had a Combi and it was too difficult to manuver with one hand. The McClaren is so smooth, easy and light and the handles are taller than most. My husband is 6'2" and has no problem with it. Love it, Love it, Love it.

I used a brand new Chicco when i was on vacation last week. Can't remember which model, but it was about $60. I am 5'4" and it was too short for me and I kept kicking the stroller when I was pushing it. I was really beginning to not like it and was bummed I bought it, but then the latches for the belt broke when my daughter was in it so I was able to return it to Babies R Us.
They said they had a few other returns for the belt breaking and also the handles fell off a couple.
It was really lightweight and easy to carry...also the sunshade was useless, way too small.

I am looking for a new lightweight one now and I have used a Maclaren Volo that belongs to a neighbor and loved it! The only downside to that one is that it does not recline, but my daughter doesn't sleep in her stroller anyway.

Like Carolyn, I have a Combi double stroller and it is VERY light weight for a double stroller, so I can't imagine the single Combi stroller weighing much at all. You can buy these at Babys R Us. I bought mine online for less money and only paid $15 for shipping (for a double stroller!). The Combi website is www.combi-intl.com

We have a Chicco and although I like it, if you or your husband are tall you will have to bend over quite a bit to push it. I am 6'2", but if you are over 5'10" I would say check it out first to see if you are comfortable pushing it. Other than that, we like it and it's easy to fold and unfold.

I have the Chico capri, I think that is the name, and I really like it. Easy to use and we have taken it on a few flights and it is very simple to fold up.

I love my Combi side by side double. I'm not sure about the single strollers, but if they are as good as the double it would be great. Very light too.

We have a Peg Perego (big stoller). When we don't want to lug that around, we have an umbrella stroller that you can lift with one hand and open/folds up like a breeze! Comes with a little canopy for shade and small bag for "stuff". Our son is 9 months old now and this little gem of a stroller is holding up like brand new. And they can fit in it through toddler age, my girlfriend's son is 3 and he still uses it. $20 at Babies R Us. Best buy we've made!!

We have a Maclaren as well, and although I was hesitant to spend that much on a light weight stroller, I am now so happy we did. We use it every day to take my son back and forth to daycare (sun, rain, or snow) and it has held up beautifully. My husband is tall (6' 3") and is as comfortable pushing it as I am (5' 2").

I have a Maclaren Quest and I love it!!! LOVE IT!!! You can use it from age 3 months and up. I wish I had gotten the XT which can be used from birth. But I LOVE the Maclaren Quest. I would go with that. It's also much sturdier than the Chicco one.

I have far too many strollers and by far, my favorite is the Maclaren Triumph. Light, easy to port about, steers well. Definitely would recommend.
