Stroller for Taking on Plane/travel?

A lot of people talk about taking their strollers on planes only to have them damaged by the airlines. So, my husband and I are thinking of buying a "cheap but good" stroller for some upcoming trips where we're flying (our daughter will be 7 months old for these trips). Any good recommendations? We're going to Hawaii (won the trip from my job!) and Florida (visiting my parents). So, we'll need a stroller that can probably take a decent beating since we'll be doing a lot of walking, getting in and out of cars/trunks, etc. THANKS!

What can I do next?

Have you thought about a wrap or soft structured carrier for wearing the infant? My daughter is 6.5 months and about 16 lbs and I know I would not be able to get out and about as much as we do without wearing her. It's so easy to just pop her in and out. Many moms and dads swear by babywearing while traveling.

We have a Chicco Capri Stroller that we got when our son was born. I think it is around $60 but we use it all the time. It is really lightweight and we've had no problems with it.

Good luck with the flying!! We have yet to take our son on a plane and I'd love to know how it goes.

How about just taking a little umbrella stroller? Easy fold up, doesn't take up much room and it's light if you have to carry it. I read that you can also check strollers at the gate so maybe it would be taken better care of?

I love my CIRCO umbrella stroller. I bought it for the same reason. It was about 40 dollars it was perfect for the airport and walking, plus it comes with a travel bag. The car rental place had car seats so we didn't need to worry about having them on the plane (and the seats were in excellent condition). Have fun!

When I took my son on his 1st plane trip at the age 11 months..I bought a sit n stroll. It was greatest thing ever. Its easy to control. You should look into one of them since your going to be walking alot and getting in and out and a car alot.
