Stroller Dillema

Hello,
I am looking for a new double stroller my son will be two in June and am pregnant with another boy which will be due in July. Have no clue which stroller to get. Side by side? Sit and stand? Tandem stroller? Anyone have any suggestions from experience? I would appreciate it.
Thank you!

Hi there. I have kids exactly 2 years apart like you will have. My daughter will be 4 in june and my son 2 in june.
I have the Graco Duoglider where they sit one in front of the other and it works great! You can use with a carseat for when the baby is small and then use the seat for when he is bigger. Good luck!

My kids are 26 months apart. When my youngest was first born, we had a tandem stroller by Kolcraft. It was red and each seat adjusted (could sit facing each other, both facing forward, both backwards, etc.) It also came with a universal car seat adapter. We really liked this stroller as it had a huge amount of storage and we used it on long outings. Unfortunately, the stroller was stollen (we left it outside our house while we gave the kids a bath one night). The drawback to that stroller was that it was a little heavy and unless you took both seats off, did not fit in the trunk.
We now have a Joovy sit and stand. Our oldest is now 3 and can walk most places. She just needs to hitch a ride every now and again. This one fits much better in the car and is much lighter to push. Not sure I could have gotten by on just the Joovy right at the beginning, but I think we would have outgrown the Kolcraft one in short time. I like the weight and size of the Joovy one much better. Hope this helps.

I used the tandem when they were younger...I needed the not quite 2 yr old strapped in...I had 3 in 3 1/2 years...I sold the tanden and bought a second hand sit and stand that we currently use now

Good luck

I have the Valco stroller side by side and love it. IT fits through every door and goes on every surface. IT has been a great investment!!!!

My kids are 23 months apart. We went with the Graco double stroller. My thoughts were - a side by side is wider and harder to fit in tight places and as far as a sit and stand goes, I wanted my two year old (she's now 4) to have a place to sleep if she wanted to take a nap. It is really easy to fit in the car and maneuver through tight places. It is just as easy to push around as our single Graco was. Have fun :)

Do the world a favor and do not get a side by side. Those things ruin days out for everyone involved. We have a Peg Perego tandem and the back rests further down which is great for the smaller baby. I would say if your 22 month old still takes naps then you might want to skip the standing stroller thing. That way if you are out long he can catch some z's too.

My kids were those exact ages and born those exact months! We got a Baby Trend sit n stand Deluxe which has two seats, so the 2-year old doesn't have to sit on his own quite yet, but the back one is removable. It is a great, inexpensive stroller for trips to the store and the infant seat fits in the front. However, with that said, you get what you pay for- the handlebars are very narrow making it hard to steer it with so much weight (and front-heavy infant seat). For neighborhood walks, I ended up getting a double jogger on Craigslist (a Schwinn) which has worked out very well for us, especially since my kids are heavier and are now 20 months and 3 1/2. Best wishes in choosing!

I had a stroller where the baby laid down in the back and the toddler sat up front. It folded up easy and had storage underneth. I purchased extra cup holders at Babies R US. It was great! I had some friends who did the side by side. They are hard to get down isles, trunk trouble, and folding them down quickly can be a challenge. I would check consumer reports as well. I would ask moms in the mall or call a twin organization for more advice.
