I usually use an ice cream bucket to store grease in the fridge after I cook but sometimes we don't have one. What do you use?

What can I do next?

I also use an empty tin can.
If it's bacon drippings, I put those in a mug and store them in the fridge for future ____@____.com other grease I don't 'keep' but rather put it in a can and then in the trash. That way it doesn't go down the drain messing up sewage/water systems.

And I just thought about it. Melanie -- when we fry food in veg oil, the leftover oil gets strained using a strainer, then strained again using a coffee filter to get out all the food particles. The oil then goes in my husband's diesel truck fuel tank. It is a good lubricator and is used as fuel.

The only grease I really have is bacon grease..which I mop out of the pan with paper towels.

Otherwise...the tiny bit from other cooking goes down the disposal while running cold water, then followed by very hot water to rinse.

I'm surprised how many people keep cooking grease! Why?

Any can that is empty. Last resort is to let is set them scoop it out with paper towels and put it into the trash can (this is not a lot of oil, though).

We use an empty 'quik' container in the freezer door. It's the perfect size to fit in the door.

I use a coffee can with a lid. I freeze it until it gets full. Then I bag it and toss it the day of garbage pick up.

Denise - it's so bad for your pipes to get greasy with oil (it's clogs them like an artery).

Any glass or metal can with a large opening. But I do not store it because I will not cook with it, once hardened I scoop out into the garbage and recycle bottle/can.
