Store Brands? - Plainfield,IL

Hello All,

Was wondering if I could get a few opinions on various store brands of diapers and wipes. We currently use Pampers Swaddlers diapers and Huggies wipes. Diaper wise we are looking for something of similar quality that doesn't leak and doesn't fall apart with a strong sneeze. Wipe wise we are looking for a nice, thick(er) wipe.

Would love to hear your opinions on what brands you use and why.

Thanks!

I used the Target brand diapers for all 3 of my kids and loved them. They are around $14 a box so they are very economical & work great.

Consider going with cloth diapers - easy and affordable and you can use them for the next child or consign them. I used Fuzzi Bunz. Disposibles just go to the landfill.

I really love the Target wipes. They're not as thick as the Huggies wipes, but they're strong and larger. They do a great job of cleaning up any mess. I love them so much that I absolutely refuse to use any other type of wipe. When my boys were newborns, we also used Pampers Swaddlers, and were sad when they were outgrown. We then switched to Huggies. Lately, I've been using Luvs or Target brand diapers. Both are comparable to Hugggies in feel, but definitely not as soft or cloth-like as Swaddlers. However, Luvs are much more absorbent, at least for my little fire hydrant. Hope this helps.

I love Target's Up and Up wipes! They are exactly like the Pampers wipes, but so much cheaper. I have always hated the Huggies wipes because they shred so easily and are not very flexible. The Up and Up wipes are very durable, yet soft and flexible.

I haven't found a disposable diaper that I can trust, so when I am not using cloth diapers, I stick to Huggies.

I agree with all those who said Costco's Kirkland Signature brand. I tried a lot of different brands with my 1st. Once I discovered these, I did not turn back. For my 2nd, they are all we've used. We love the diapers and the wipes. I've never found a better deal either. If you don't belong to Costco, you can easily save the amount of the annual membership just by buying your diapers and wipes there. I've also heard good things about their formula, although both my kids were breast-fed, so I don' t know firsthand.

Target diapers are my favorite and Walmart sensitve wipes are soft and textured but the stand up pretty good. BUT if you are wanting to use name brand diapers try couponing. I got 14 packs of huggies little movers diapers for $45. Check iheartrideaid.com and afullcup.com for more details. With a little time and the right coupons you can get anything!

I used Kirkland diapers and Kirkland wipes from Costco. The diapers are the same as "Huggies Supremes" but much cheaper than the actual Huggies Supreme. (The Kirkland diaper turns out to be about the same price as the cheaper Huggies Snug and Dry). I'm not sure who makes the wipes, but I've never used any other brand. These are top quality at a much cheaper price.

Costco's Kirkland brand for both diapers and wipes, they are great and such a deal. We also use the Kirkland formula and it's great too.

Don't buy the walmart brand diapers, Parent's Choice, they leak like crazy. We have used Luvs for both kids ever since, I was too skeptical to try any other store brand and they are close in price. As for wipes we have use the Parent's Choice and also the Sam's club brand and they have been fine. The only thing I don't like about the Parent's Choice as that they seem to want to stick together all the time so you end up grabbing a bunch.

My kids have been out of diapers for quite a while but I started off with Pampers and then made the switch to The Sam's brand Member's Mark diapers after a freind recommended them. I thought they were great and comparable to the Pampers. You can check with Sam's but I am pretty sure that if you buy the diapers and try out a few but decide you don't like them, you can return the rest for a full refund. I had to do that with a food product that I once purchased.

I used pampers until about 3 mo. then I went to parents choice. It's a walmart brand I believe. I still used pampers at night until my kiddo stopped taking a bottle in bed. I found that cheap diapers will leak with the night time pee but during the day they aren't going 8-10 hrs w out a changing and buying 1 pack of pampers a mo is well worth it compared to the loads of laundry I was washing. Plus parents choice is a good diaper. I have a 17 mo old and a 2 yr old and since they have been using them full time I have never had a leak.

Target diapers are great but the most recent wipes are awful. The ones I recently bought are very perfumey and very thin. It is an orange and white label. I know they ahve a good one because I have used them but not the ones with orange in the label. I have a friend who loves the Cosco Kirkland diapers and wipes.

After Pampers changed into the new kind of diapers they broke out my daughter who was still wearing a diaper at night. I switched to the "babies r us supreme" diapers. I never had problem with them. Granted I only brought two packages of them b/c now she is potty trained. I kinda wish I would have known about them a long time ago b/c I would have been using them for a while. For wipes we always used huggies the thick ones. Pampers wipes are the worse! I have had good things about CVS diapers never used them.

The best wipes are from Sam's Club... called Member's Mark. Tier diapers aren't bad either.

I've tried them all by now. I LOVE the Meijer DryBabies. If I were to rate diapers this is my preference (1) Meijer (2) Pampers (3) Huggies (4) Target.
I don't like the Pampers and Target diapers feel mushy when wet. I like Huggies but hate how they curl up during changings. Meijer diapers have a sturdier feel to them like the Huggies but they lay flat.

I prefer thick wipes too. I like the Pampers thick wipes but settle for various brands of the Shea Butter.

we use Sam Club diaper and wipes they work great. They are nearly Identical to the Huggies little movers, which I use on occasion when I have a coupon. I found that as my dd got bigger the pampers no longer worked very well. She can go 12 hrs and no leaking. I and you get about 50 more diapers for about $10 less per case. you cant beat that. Oh the sam's choice at walmart is not the same I found out the hard way. gl

Definetely go with the Up and Up brand from Target. They are AWESOME!!! I've been using their diapers and wipes and diaper rash cream since my daughter was about 9 months and have not looked back. They are VERY much affordable and their diapers are great. They never ever leak and I even use them for overnight. Their wipes are great also. :)

We LOVE target up and up diapers for both my two year old and five month old. They never leak! We also like the target sensitive skin wipes, but they are not super thick, but we have to use sensitive stuff over thick stuff because my two year old breaks out easily.

Target diapers are awesome! I still use Huggies wipes - will only use pop-up ones. Not sure if any store brands make pop-up ones.

I love the Toys R Us brand wipes. I use a baby wipe warmer, so I have to use the thinner wipes in it. I've found with all three of my kids, that I use different diaper brands at different ages. When my kids were infants, I used mostly Huggies and Pampers. As they got older, I used Luvs and Target brand diapers. The thicker (Target brand) diapers work better as children get older. I buy Luvs because I get coupons for them and some store seems to always have them on sale in my area, so I double up my savings.

I love Target Up&Up diapers, I have used them for a couple of years now, for a boy and girl, at night, everything! They have worked out great for us. As for the wipes, I finally stopped trying to find cheaper wipes and buy the Pampers Thickcare b/c I have a 2 y/o and his poops are heavy duty!
