This is our first Christmas with 2 kids. Our daughter is 6 and our son will be 6 weeks old. My daughter still believes in Santa (as she should) and I need ideas of what to put in baby brothers stocking ... I have thought about a book but I do not want to put clothes... Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

What can I do next?

Binky's, a cute bottle, some cute socks, some Robeez shoes, a stuffed toy, some teething toys, a baby's 1st Christmas ornament, some cute jammies rolled up and squeezed in there (I know you said no clothes but jammies are so cute, especially the long john kind that are fitted)...the list is endless...

.....this makes me kinda nostalgic and a wee bit sad...no more babies for me!

Book, new rattle or teething toy, finger puppets, baby einstein video
FYI...your son might still be young but a great gift idea from your daughter is a build a bear. they love making them and picking out an outfit and it came from their brother or sister so it's sentimental

Teething toys, books, warm slippers/socks, a lovey, small toys that make noise (rattle, etc.) You could also allow your daughter pick up some items for the baby's stocking. I'm sure she would have fun doing that!

We are in a similar situation, my dd is 3 1/2 and baby is 10 months. I am buying a big bag of mega blocks and dumping them into his stocking. If it wasnt for our older daughter and Santa, I probably wouldnt even do a stocking for him, as he has no idea whats going on anyway.

Holiday painted pacifiers? Socks, my newborn's feet are always cold. Maybe a coupon from Santa for better items later when baby brother is older and can have proper stocking treats.

Does your son use a pacifier? If so, that would be one idea. Teethers, rattles, small book, various baby snacks, mittens, socks, hat....

I know you don't want clothes in the stocking . . . that would be boring for a 6 year old to see anyway, but if you could find a bib or onesie with a funny saying or something Christmas related, that could work. Other than that, I would do a little teething toy or other small toys. I like those little linky toys with the animals hanging from them that you can attach to the handle on your car seat. books are nice too! In our family, everyone gets an orange and a toothbrush in their stockings, so if you have a special tradition for your daughter, then continue it for the baby . . . even if he will not be able to use them for a while. Christmas ornaments, bath toys, a special stuffed animal, wrist rattles, the list can go on and on!

ALSO- try to find something that is red, black and white. My son was 4 weeks old for Christmas and we were able to find a bright Starts brand teether that was a red apple with black and white handle. These colos are GREAT for baby to learn to focus!

Not sure about the Stocking part. But in my experiences my children as newborns liked small toys with light and sound. But all kids are different. .............P.S. a question why are people giving general baby care items as gifts? I find that funny..

A small board book is a great idea.
As is a small lovey/stuffed animal.
It doesn't have to be much... you can explain to daughter that Santa knows that babies don't need much but love, and that a lot of other things can be dangerous, until he grows up some more.

Had the same situation two years ago! We went with small items that baby would be needing eventually and would be useful so that his stocking wouldn't be a major waste of money! We did the very first toothbrush that goes on the finger with toothpaste, some infant spoons, some baby bath wash, a teether/rattle, a new cloth book, and a beginner sippy cup. Oh, and that baby's first ornament because we have a tradition that everyone gets one ornament in their stocking every year.

My son is 6 this year and I am hoping to keep him believing in Santa at least this year! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!
