The other day I asked for ideas for my little ones, but now realizing I need to also come up with stocking ideas for my husband (all my shopping gets done for everyone else, and I leave him last, by mistake). I can't remember what I put in his stocking last year. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

Mixed nuts, orange, apple. His favorite (rare) candy bar (Toblerone with fruit and nuts for my guy), candy cane, and a chocolate orange. One hot wheel. (All these are throwbacks to youth, and we do these things every year).
Things I've given him in the stocking: a book, a sweet or silly poem, song, or letter. A Superman keychain b/c he's my Superman. A wallet, a watch, itunes card, any gift card, an "itinerary" for a date night that's already been taken care of (including the gift certificate to our "special" restaurant), either a magazine subscription or a single magazine (National Geographic or The Economist for my guy), tickets to a concert, sporting event, a tour of Cowboy Stadium, or some other event he'd like, a new oil, lubricant, or some other interesting novelty item for a laugh. Any normal thing he needs, travel size, to keep at work (Jer keeps a little stash of stuff like toothbrush, mouthwash, mints, cliff bars, etc in a drawer at work). New updated portraits of the kids and/or family for his desk. A softball in the toe, and a prepaid day at the batting cages the year he signed up for the company softball team but didn't know how to play yet (he's from England----we made a date of it and I taught him how to bat and then let him practice at the cage before the league started---he hit a double at his FIRST at bat, woohoo!). Basically, figure out what he's interested in at the moment, or something he'd like to try but hasn't yet. Anything small that as you're walking by you go "Hark! That's so him" or "Dude, that'd be a laugh". We keep it light hearted. Occasionally there will be some "real" present (a bracelet for me once, a watch for him) but that's a surprise and not every year. Does he collect something? A ball card, or coin, a stamp, a rock? Does he like puzzle games or old timey games like marbles, jacks, cards, etc? We love Scrabble, and so I gave him Scrabble Slam (cards) once. Is there something you come across that could have a double meaning, or remind him of an inside joke? A christmas ornament for the next year? Just have fun with it!

Laurie A has some great ideas; some I've done before. I would add to that:
travel size deodorants, body wash, shampoos
manicure kit
dress socks/tie/cuff links if he "dresses up" at all
wallet or clip for money
flashlight (small one for vehicle etc.)
I-tune/Lowes/Home Depo/t or Coffee shop/restaurant gift card he likes
cologne samples or favorite cologne that you like!

Chamios (shammy) to wash his car.
Gloves for working around the house. If he is a "handy" sort, maybe a new tape measure, or 'tester" for electrical work.
Pressure gauge to check air in tires.
Favorite barbecue sauce
Card for the car wash or detail shop.
For the golfer......tees or golf balls.
New Key ring.
