Hello! I use sharebuilder, and have for many years. The main thing that I like about them is that they work with my budget. If I only have $20 that month, that's what I contribute and they purchase partial shares. And if money is really tight and I need to take a month off, I can do that too!

I just talked to someone at Edward Jones about starting a college fund for my kids. He suggested a roth ira for any kind of money saving. I really can't remember all the details, but I'm sure you can find lots on the internet about it. He likes it better than the college fund specifically set for college because schools look at money in the kid's name and won't give them a scholarship because you can already pay for it. A roth is in your name so they'll never see it. Of course you can only take out what you put in so it's better for retirement or something for the long haul. Hope this wasn't too confusing. (-:

I would set up an appt. with a finacial advisor. He can help assess what your goals are and how to reach them. Some companies are Raymond James and Ass., Edwards Jones,Inc. and I believe ING. You might look in a newspaper for classes that will teach you what to do. It is best to start with a professional and when you feel confident take over it yourself. A professional might be able to tell you where to go to get educated in the stock trading business.
Goood luck.
