Stinky Shirt- Help!
Hi moms,
This is not the normal request, but I need some help. I was holding my daughter before I left for work this morning and didn't realize until after I was in the car that her diaper leaked! No my shirt smells funny and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any fast fixes to get the urine stink out. I've wiped it off with water, but that didn't seem to work. Thanks so much!

I would try a little rubbing a little hand sanitizer on the spot. Try it first in a spot that isn't easily seen. Good luck!!! If that doesn't work, run out at lunch and get a new shirt!:)

I would try a baby wipe (those do wonders for spills, stains, etc) or I always found that rubbing alcolhol works wells for urine stains too!
Good luck!

Hm, You know, I find that sometimes after you wipe it off with a little water and spray some perfume on it it's not as big of a deal. You know it's there so the smell is easier for you to pick up, but others probably aren't smelling it.

Stick a dryer sheet, like bounce or something, in your pocket. I know it sounds funny but dealing with a child with acid reflux, puking all the time, dryer sheets hepled alot.

I have learned after my long 3 1/2 years of being a mom (seems like longer than that) of two boys to always carry a couple of dryer sheets in my purse (along with hand wipes, snacks, pacifer, and the kitchen sink...LOL). Dryer sheets are magical things. Dampen the dryer sheet, apply to area of offense, and presto, you no longer smell like urine, poop, baby spit-up, or vomit. Hope this helps!

Can you get to a store for some pet enzyme spray? Or to the drugstore? Also look for an organic enzyme spray. Oust may be one. there are others. (You can use diluted white vinegar to remove urine, but then you need something perfumey to cover the vinegar, even soap has a perfumey smell! Go sit in the sun on your break! Sunlight kills the ammonia in urine. That's why cloth diapers were supposed to be hung outside on the clothesline. Good luck!

Carry some Febreeze (or like product) in your car with you. Not only will you be able to spritz yourself if needed, but doing so in your car can help with some childlike odors as well.
You will probably smell it more knowing that it is there. Also, have an extra set of clothes for any occasion in the car just in case. Planning ahead it hard sometimes, but well worth it in the end.

This is too late to help you today, but it will help in the future. I always carry Shout wipes in my purse and in my daughter's diaper bag. They are really portable, inexpensive, and have saved the day many times. They are basically "Shout" laundry stain remover in a little wipe, individually wrapped. I've never tried them on urine, but they work on everything I've tried so far. I hope this helps!
