Stella & Dot Jewelry Sales
Has anyone sold jewelry through Stella & Dot? It looks like a good product and a fun way to earn money? I want to get reviews from anyone before I sign up to be a rep.

I am a lia sophia advisor, so I will try to stay neutral when it comes to my reasons either for or against Stella & Dot.
The first thing, right now Direct Selling is the fastest way to earn a living. With lia sophia there is a proven formula that if you follow you will be making 6 figures with in 3 years. I am in my first year and loving every minute. Whatever you choose to do, make sure the team you are signing up with will be there to support you, make sure the earnings are there and you won't be spending more on jewelry then receiving in profits (your starter kit will give you $350 in Free Jewelry to start, but your samples will cost you 50% - I am not sure what business supplies they give you if any with the starter kit) and make sure you are ready to work booking shows takes time and energy.
Comparing Stella and Dot to Lia Sophia:
Stella and Dot is a new line that only offers a 30 day return and 90 day exchange policy. Lia Sophia has been around over 30 years, and we offer a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee, which means 45 days for money back, 120 exchange or credit (no fee)and after 120 day exchange or credit with $5 handling fee to process).
Think about the product, will it appeal to EVERYONE or just a certain group of women. Do you think you will have repeat customers.
What is the special that you will be able to offer the hostess and her guests. Your hostess has to have a $300 min show to receive any bonus and then she still only gets 15% and 2 Half PRice items.
Lia Sophia has one of the most generous Hostess Programs out there with $250 min show and you are entitled to 20% of show sales in FREE jewelry, 4 Bonus items (anything in the catalog up to $100 will be $15, up to $130 will be $20-there are additional bonus prices listed in the catalog), PLUS 2 Half Price items (which I choose to offer my hostess 5 Half price items)
Customers-What is the customer special? Does it change each month? Catalog - How often does the catalog change its styles, what do you do with your jewelry once it is retired.
Lia Sophia offers a new catalog every 6 months with the Kiam collection staying the same for a full year. We always have a Customer Special which is buy 2 get 1 Half Off, PLUS a Monthly Special (November: Get up to 3 Additional Necklaces Half off, December: Get up to 3 Additional Items Half Off)
Lia Sophia Starter Kit is $149 and contains over $1000 worth of jewelry, training cd, jewelry trays, business starters including Catalogs, postcards, order forms, (everything you need for your first 5 shows) all in a Great Carrying Case.
Any additional jewerly we would like to buy is at 70% off and we have special incentives to earn jewelry in the new catalogs for 77% off. We can also purchase jewelry at the Bonus Price. Finally, we have an excellent beginnings program that allows you to earn $600 in Jewelry Credits within your first 15 weeks.
I tried to compare what I know and obviously I know much more about lia sophia. Check out my website at www.liasophia.com/jennifermccarte to learn more about why I chose to start this at home business and it may help you decide what is right for you.
Feel free to contact me at anytime, I am non treatening and non pushy when it comes to my business, most people book shows or sign up to be advisors because they Love the Product, so if you are just looking for a direct selling company, but you are not in love with Stella and Dot, I would be willing to meet you for coffee if you had other questions. I also have contacts in many other direct selling companies and maybe I can help you find something that you will love, because when you love your business it is successful.

Hello K.,
I am a Stella and Dot stylist and absolutely love the product. I have had nothing but fantastic responses when holding trunk shows. I would love for you to join my team. We have a great promo running right now called Glam Getaway. This year is a Trip to LA, celebrity makeover, 3000 shopping spree. They are also doing a local one on the Mag mile in downtown chicago for an overnighter, dinner and shopping. They have great incentives.
Everywhere I have been the guests love the fresh look Stella has to offer and like that is different from those that have been around before. I do not want to offend those that work for the others but, people want to see fresh an innovative. We have been featured in many mags already and we show what is in the fashion world today. My background in fashion merchandising brought me to this SAHB. I have worked in buying field with Claires Accessories so I pride myself on knowing what is in. I recently had a table at a craft show where the other competition was there. The Rep actually saw our product and wanted to switch over. Many of the guests preferred ours as well. Contact me for further info. ____@____.com

Hi K.-I have been in direct sales for a long time. I will tell you I looked at Stella and Dot and while they have cute products, I just felt the jewelry market was very saturated. I will tell you if you decide to do it you need 3 key things:
1. Passion or love for the product (any make sure it is unique and has a niche in the market place)
2. A solid comprehensive business plan--MOST women do not have this one key criteria and it makes it so much more difficult to succeed in a home based business no matter what you do
3. Excellent follow up and customer service
I tell all of my business partners and team that no matter which company you represent you must have these things or you will run around in circles.
Good luck with your endeavor!!

K. - I see you've gotten quite a few responses to your question but I also wanted to suggest that you do your due diligence before selecting a home business. You want to find a reputable company that has top-tier products that are standalone (can be placed for sale on a brick-and-mortar store shelf), has an excellent compensation plan, offers a supportive community to help you build your business, and has industry leaders building their businesses with this organization (this shows you that the best of the best are there, which means you probably are selecting a very good organization to work with).
The company that I am a rep for offers everything mentioned above. We have direct sales (you sell products to your clients) and we have the network marketing side (building our right and left teams). We have a stand alone products, an easy to duplicate system and terrific leadership. Heck, we even have 3 field trainers who were at the top income earning levels of their companies who now are teaching us to do the same. It’s their job to teach us how to be successful!
If you'd like to learn more about my company, please let me know. Good luck! S.

If you are ever interested in looking at other direct sales jewelry companies, check out my website. www.liasophia.com/staceys. We have been around for 30 years, and growing. I have talked at length with one Stella rep and she said we share most customers, but her biggest challenge is the retro vibe and slighly higher price point. Those can be challenging obstacles in the suburbs. If you choose Stella and Dot, be sure to sign up with someone who has the time and experience to train you.Good luck!

Hi K.,
I am not a negative person but I have had friends that have tried the jewelry sale business....not this company in particular but with the economy it just didnt work because it wasnt something to help people save money. So just research it before you make a decision and check out the comps from the company and the turnover rate. I sell Tupperware and love it and we have had positive comps through the economic downfall because our products are lifetime guaranteed and people save money because they are not throwing away fruits and veggies because they have spoiled or cereal that the bag was not properly sealed....etc and people are realizing how much food and plastic containers, ziplock bags...etc that they are throwing away and buying Tupperware to help them save money and prepare meals to store in the freezer that they can reheat later instead of buying processed tv dinners....so if you want to consider a company that has been around for over 60 years, has a great reputation, great incentives, and wonderful pay, call me to get more info. I work only 1-2 days a week and make $2000-$4000 a month and get trips to disney or hawaii every 6 months and take the cash option for a car but could be driving their car. My site it www.my.tupperware.com/jenniferhoernig or call me at ###-###-#### or email me at ____@____.com Good luck with any business you choose, its great to work from home and be able to spend time with your family!!
