You have to be careful because micro-fiber is a synthetic material and is essentially made out of plastic which can melt, if you use too much heat. There should be a code on the tag as someone else said or you can call the place where you bought it and ask them. I do know of someone who steam cleaned there micro fiber and it melted. Good luck!

Hi D.,

I have microfiber furniture also and I have had to clean it several times because one of the kids peed on it. I have used my own steam cleaner on it as well as "Kids and Pets" stain and odor remover. The only thing I have noticed is that the finish seems to be shinier now but I don't know if it's from cleaning it or from normal wear. The furniture doesn't have that soft feeling that it used to on the top surfaces that we sit on.

I would call a carpet cleaning company, many also clean furniture. Obviously, its a different material, but we had our leather couches cleaned last year and it was awesome.

i use the little bissel cleaner on mine for the back cushions, and unzip the bottom cushion covers and put them in the wash on gentle with just a tiny bit of soap. i'm pretty sure our stain-proof warranty isn't valid anymore since i used soap, though. it does come clean w/just water but takes a lot longer.
good luck:)

D., look for a Chem-Dry in your area. They do not use chemicals-but cleaners that are natural. They can safely clean the sofa and loveseat.

Hi D.,

We just had our professionally cleaned even though you could use a wet cloth on ours. There should be a tag on your sofa with a code that will tell you how it can be cleaned. Here is the info I got off the internet on the codes. Now I did get mine professionally cleaned as I have two small children myself and figured it needed it and now I can just do the damp cloth upkeep!!
Hope this info helps... J. in Macomb

Microfiber furniture will commonly come with a tag that has one of the special microfiber codes that tell you how to clean it. The tags will say, W, S, S-W, or X.
W means you can use water based cleaning solution.
S means you have to use a "solvent" based cleaner
S-W means you can use S or W type cleaners
If you have furniture with a W tag, then good for you, you probably don't need this website. Personally, my sofas do not have any tags, and the most common problems I've seen are from people who use water to clean their sofa. They end up with water rings, which is NOT what you want from your probably expensive purchase!

I have used Wet-Ones (the wipes) on our couch. It does leave a little wet mark or ring, but after it gets sat on a few times it goes away. I have been debating the same thing as you- were about to get the matching love-seat and I am afraid they will be two diff. colors if our couch is to dirty, lol.
Good luck!

I would check with magna dry they will clean it by hand. This is better for the coach. Steam cleaning will soak the coach which is not good for the material. They will clean it in a way that is better for the material.
