Best recent investment. It cleans very well and the floors seems to stay cleaner longer. I guess the chemicals left on the floor with regular cleaning attract dirt. And it's so safe for kids and animals. I have a Bissell and love it. The cleaning pads/cloth seem to wear out quickly (after a few usages) so buy an extra set.

i actually posted a question a few weeks ago asking the same thing. most people requested the shark. just a note though, check to make sure that steam is compatible with your floor type. i have peel and stick tile in my kitchen, and steam will peel them up. also some linoleums are not steam compatible. i wound up getting a microfiber mop, and i just use hot water to clean my floors. i love it.

I have the shark steam mop for my laminate floors and I love it. easy to use and does a GREAT job cleaning. for jobs above floor level I actually have the shark steamer and I like that as well, although it doesn't get as much use as my mop. both heat up fast. I believe bed bath & beyond carriers them both and you can use their 20% off coupon (if you have one near you). they also take expired coupons :) the steam cleaners certainly save on paying the prices for the green cleaners that are out there. good luck.

Hi E.,

I went and bought a Bisell steam cleaner and love it. I have an eight-month old daughter who we are trying to get to crawl. So the carpets should definitely be clean. In addition to not allowing any shoes worn in the house, I use the steam cleaner. I use the Resolve Oxy-buster cleaning solution with hot water and am very pleased with the results. No buildup like when I used to use Arm&Hammer powder and then vacuum! I feel much better allowing the baby to roll around on the carpet, other babies on the carpet when I host wigglers & crawlers playdates, and feel good myself to roll around on the carpet. Hope this helped even a little.

Hi E.,
I have the shark steam mop and I really love it. I think it works great (evidence on the dirty mop pad). I have hard wood floors and ceramic tile. I really got it for the hard wood floors, but it does a great job on both. My only negatives on it are 1. the cord is not very long so I have to move it from plug to plug as I go and 2. the pole coming out of the handle feels a bit flimsy to me, but it still does the job. I would recommend it despite the negatives. If you go to bed bath and beyond or similar store you can use one of those 20% of coupons.

I bought a steam mop from QVC a month ago and love it. I've included the link below. I have ceramic tile, and my floors feel so clean after using it. It doesn't hurt my back to mop anymore, and my 10-year-old son thinks it's fun to use which is a bonus!
