Just finished my packet of birth control last month and am still waiting on my period to begin. My husband and I have 3 kids (2,4,and 6) and would love to try for another. It's been 29 days since my last period and no signs of pregnancy....what should I expect? if I don't have regular cycles, how can you calculate ovulation, etc.? Thanks ladies!

What can I do next?

You don't say if you are using an alternate form of birth control. My Dr. had me do that for 3 mos. after I quit the pill.If not you could already be pregnant. When I quit the alternate I got pregnant right away.
You don't always have signs.

When we were trying, it always took 2 months for my cycle to pick back up.

I know for others that were less regular in their cycles, it took longer.
So for now, I think you have to just wait it out.

its different for everyone. In college when I stopped the pill it took me a year to start periods again. I quit again in December and haven't had a period yet. Other people I know start it up right away.

Having a period and ovulating are different things. I did not have regular periods but was still ovulating and able to get pregnant. It did make tracking hard so I ended up using one of those ovulation tests where you pee on a stick every day and it tells you when it's time. Good Luck!

My periods have always been very regular, and that's how it happened when I went off the pill. I was nervous that it would take me a couple of months to start ovulating again so I charted my basal body temp (just google it if you don't know what I'm talking about). Your temp will jump a day or two after you ovulate, so I always knew when it had happened. Luckily for us it didn't take long at all for mine to come back and we got pregnant the first month I charted. We just had sex every day or two until my temp jumped. Your cervical mucus will also change to an egg white consistency when you are ovulating, so that's another way to tell.

Are you asking how to calculate ovulation? So funny because I know I'm ovulating when it's the one time of month I feel like sex, and the guy in line or gardener looks hot all of a sudden. But you also should get a milky / white discharge that's more than normal too. And once I was done with the pill, my cycle took about three months to regulate. Good luck!

if you just are wanting to track ovulation then try BBT method (Basal Body Temperature) all you need to do is track your waking body temperature each morning, and when it spikes you ovulate... I've got three kids, and I can tell you it works. I followed the methods on tcoyf.com (taking Charge of your fertility .com is what it stands for) there info is fantastic, but back in the day I first got pregnant I had to read the book, there wasn't a website. on the website you can print out the charts to make it easy to track your BBT, and you will know if you are ovulating even if you don't have a period... you will also know if you are not ovulating, either way it is a great tool to help you get pregnant, I learned that I ovulate late, which the "kits" may not have indicated clearly for me. and taking my temp is a lot less expensive than those Ovulation Kits! at tcoyf.com you can learn other ovulation cues to help you determine what is going on with your body, but BBT is the easiest tracking method I found, and very reliable... I didn't have to buy pregnancy test because my temp would easily tell me if I was or was not pregnant... but admittedly I bought them anyhow just to double check :)

My sister got pregnant with her second the first month she stopped the pill you say you've had no signs but unless you take a test you really can't be sure.

I don't know how you'd calulate perhaps your ob can help you with that. I always know when I'm ovulating because of the change in discharge.
