I'm having a having a heck of a time removing leaky diaper stains. What stain remover product do you like? Someone recommended BioKleen Bac Out, but I cannot find it locally and prefer not buying online unless absolutely necessary. Thanks for your suggestions.

I used Resolve (used to be Spray N Wash) and Oxiclean and stains always come out. If it is a really bad stain, try soaking in Oxiclean and cold water in the sink first.
Hope you find something that works for you!

Hi J C.,

I am with Marie M. on this one. Use the sun. I am using gDiapers for my 7 month old and those come with liners that are getting soild pretty much every time with No. 2. I just wash them and put them out in the sun and they turn out perfectly white. I have done the same with clothes and so far it has worked for me.
Good luck and take care, C.

Nature Bright from Shaklee. It removed stains from baby clothes that showed up after I took them out of a storage box they had been in for two years.
You will have to get it online unless you have a distributor near you.

I swear by Dreft spray. I keep a bottle in each of my children's rooms and spray any food, dirt or poop before it goes in the laundry basket. I try to remember to spray it again before washing too. My children both had the normal blow-outs all infants have and I've only had one outfit ruined in two kids. Good luck!

I think it was a shout stick with a little brush. The brush was key. The ones that are more like a glue sticks didn't work. I really had to scrub the stains.

What worked best for us, was to soak the items right away, even if at night. Some nights when our daughter was little, we would end up with a bucket full of onesies and sleepers in the morning. I would then, spot clean (with Shout) and wash the items right away. It seemed to work for us and there were no leaky diaper stains. Best of luck.

Lol. I was going to say Bac Out...Amazon has it for a pretty decent price.
It is also a excellent carpet stain remover too-if your worried about having bulk.
Health food store? Maybe they could order it in for you. :)
Do you immediately rinse them in cold water?
W/ my first I didn't know right away that warm/hot water cooks the protein in the poop, thus setting the stain. (Sorry, I see you have 3...I'm sure you know that.) :)
Purex 2
And I've been using Palmolive lately too.
I've been getting lazy cause I'm supposed to be done w/ poopie blowouts! ;)
HTH!

I swear by my OxiClean. I will put about 8 scoops in a full size load, let it agitate for a few minutes, then stop and let it soak. I will keep agitating it throughout the day as items float to the top and I wouldn't want an item that was only partially clean because part of it was not submerged. It says you can only soak up to 6 hours (or is it 4?) but I have left things to soak overnight even after mixing it up for a few hours that evening and have never had it eat holes in my clothes.

I LOVE Zout. You can get it at Safeway. Make sure to cover the stain and really soak with the product.

Grandmas is carried at Hancock Fabrics. It has a white bottle with a navy blue lid and is by the register at mine.

Oxiclean and generics of it work really well but they are harsh on skin. I only use the Resolve stain stick now. It's not perfect, but it does help.

When it first happens I use dish soap and get as much of it out as I can by scrubbing it in the kitchen sink. Dish soap is made to get through grease and tough stuff so it usually gets it all out. Then I spray it with Dreft stain remover, it works really well. We use it for everyone's stained laundry here.

I used to swear by Stain Stick by Spray N Wash, but they stopped making it in stick form (at least I can't find it near me). So I tried Oxyclean and it gave me a lovely rash -- with my clothes just in the same load as the little one's -- the stuff wasn't even actually applied to my clothing! So now I use Resolve spray (which is what Spray N Wash spray became). And if it's a deep stain, I pre-wash it by hand in the sink with cold water and a bar of bath soap (the gel or foam hand soap doesn't work as well) to get the worst out ahead of time.

The BEST thing I have found to help with leaky diaper stains is the sun... Simple enough, hang them out to dry in the sun.. I tried most other things, but they didnt really help me nearly as much as the sun did.. Just hang them until they are mostly dry and then throw them in the dryer for a little while to soften them.. Wash them like normal and then hang them while they are still wet.. it's always worth a try, it doesnt cost anything.. =)

I've used a cleaner called Wonder Cleaner but I think it's only sold door to door or online. I've never seen it in a store. The thing I liked about it was that it didn't break my daughter excema out like other stain removers.
