"Stain Removal" Need Magician I Think!

Hi Mommies,

How do I get baby carrots out of cotton? I have not machine washed or dried the item yet. I have used the Dreft stain pen, soaked in Dreft and used the Spray -n- Wash Dual Power and soaked again in Dreft. The stain is minimal now but still there. This is going on 3 days now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks D.

Try Oxi-Clean. The powder mixed with water is very potent, but they also have a pre-treat spray that I use with an old toothbrush to rub in. On occasion I have to do this cycle twice, but rarely have I had to get rid of something. It gets EVERYTHING out! I keep both on hand always.

The BEST stain remover is Quixtar's pre-wash spray. It's gotten 10 year old formula stains out of my daughters baby sweater, it got rust and nail polish out of my friend's comforter, and I just put it on some hair dye I accidentally got on my infant's pants. You can only order it online with a membership. If you are interested, I can get you some. Just send me a side messae and I will help you with that.

Hi D.- I have two little ones as well and have found the following two steps to be useful in getting stains out. 1. Spray n Wash Max with Resolve power. This is good stuff. Spray it in the stain, even if it has been washed and dried. Let it sit for about 3-4 minutes, then wash it. 2. This is my last resort. Run about a gallon of water(cold is fine) and pour about 2/3 cup of regular bleach in the water. Yes, bleach. Then put the whole piece of Damp clothing in and submerge it. Swirl it around and just keep checking the stain. I do this with colored shirts as well. I have never ruined a shirt yet. The stain will disappear in a matter of minutes. If you're nervous about the use of bleach try this on a piece of clothing that you aren't scared to try with and that has a stain. Then when the stain is removed, rinse it out well and launder as usual. I then will do an extra rinse. I actually do an extra rinse anyway with my kids clothes. It works every time for me.

My catch all stain remover is regular old dish soap, like Dawn. I squirt a little bit directly on the stain, scratch it with my fingernails and then rinse. Sometimes I have to repeat, but I have been able to get anything out of anything with this method. Good luck!

I've had great luck with a stain-removal spray called Zout. I have three small children, and in the early going, I realized that some things get stained and will never come clean again no matter what you do. That's when I started buying most of their clothes at Target. I find that when I have paid $3.87 or $4.99 for one of their little shirts, etc., I don't get so furious when I have to throw it in the trash!
Good luck!

The only thing that works for me is Oxi Clean in the powder form.

Hi D.,

Try soaking the spot in Vinegar...works wonders!

Good Luck,

L.

Hi D., I have had a lifetime of getting out stains. The one thing that i use when all else fails is a small amount of dishwashing soap. Put just a small amount on the actual stain and work it in with your finger. If it looks like you have just made the stain the color of the dishwashing liquid, don't worry, it comes out. Let it sit for about an hour and then wash as directed. Let me know if it works for you.

All the best.

S. Cranswick.
