Spring Break Fun ??
I am looking for something fun to do with my 2 boys, ages 3 & 5 ,over the spring break holiday. We have done the zoos, museum, edinborough so often that it is almost losing some of it's excitement. Anyone have any fun/creative ideas that I might have missed?

Have you ever been to the Arboratum? It is in the Chanhassen area and my nephews love it. Great walking trails and beautiful scenery.

bumper bowling
If it's warm enough, fill a bucket with water, give each boy a paintbrush and let them paint the driveway!
Make some cookies together or go shopping together for some "to give to some grandma and grandpas" and then go to a nursing home to pass them out. Kids get joy out of giving stuff to people. Residents get joy out of just setting eyes on little ones. ON the way home, stop for an ice cream cone...

Hammer and nails. Find them a log that you can put some where will it will not move and let them hammer to hearts content.
Take them to a local farm and let them look at the animals. Be sure to call the farmer first and ask if it is ok.
Fly a kite.
Call a fire station and see if they would give your family a tour. Little boys love fire engines.

We usually do a treasure hunt (either inside or outside or even at parks, etc), one day of each childs choice, bowling, ice skating (even our 2 year old had a BLAST last year).
Other ideas are:
Go see a kids concert (local kids singer even at coffee shop)
library
kids museum
movie (like Veggie tails- our 2 year LOVED it!!)

wont fill a day up, but my girls 2 and 5 love me to hide the plasitc easter eggs. inside right now, but outside when warmer. you can put small treats in them. we do it about 2-3 times before they get bored with it.

skateland is fun. Mom even can skate. With the new play area and things it can be a bit hectic so team up with another mom so you can keep track of the kids a little easier because spring break time is more crazy than usual.
sleep over with friends in the back yard.
i agree with the bowling- in gradeschool my boys even joined a summer league. with bumper bowling it makes it fun for 3 &5 yr olds too.
make a game of spring cleaning. I know it sounds nuts but kids like to be productive and show off their handywork. Doesnt have to be anything grand or perfect.
I know my boys enjoyed learning where spring cleaning came from and it helped them appriciate what we have now days compared. tell them as they say in the movie "Hope Floats" gotta shake the stink off!
good luck and keep enjoying those boys. Mine are 18 & 20 now and I dont regreat one single moment I spent with them instead of doing something else.
