Spinning off - Hair Care Costs...

Okay - I see that Call Me Mr Mom asked a question about a dispute he and his wife were having over the cost of hair care.

I spend $50 for a hair cut and blow dry. I color my own hair. So that is $10 for the box? I think!!

So how much do you spend on hair care?

What can I do next?

Interesting to see the difference in prices around the country.

I would have to go back and look, but I think my wife's normal hair cut is about $90 with tip.

Mine? $20!! Men have it easy!

My hair is my indulgence. :)

I spend $150 every 11 weeks to have my hair straightened.

I spend about $85 every 5 weeks on color.

I tip a huge amount on those services, and I've gone to the same person for years, so she rarely charges me for haircuts. On the rare occassion that I do pay for a haircut (maybe once a year), it's $80.

Since Groupon I have not paid over $25 for a hair cut. Groupon has some great stylists that normally charge $50 to $60 and I get it for half price. I don't color my hair. I have very thin hair and don't want the extra stress. My mom over dyed, over permed way over did things to her hair back in the day and now she has VERY thin hair, like you can see her scalp. I am afraid to do processes in my hair I don't want to lose it like my mom did!
But like Theresa I don't mind spending the money on my daughter. I will pay full price for her hair cuts. And she won't go to Supercuts!

I got my hair cut before my wedding and haven't had it cut since. I go to Sallys for my dye so we are talking 6 dollars a pop, once a month. Shampoo/Conditioner 35 every four months. So total 200 if I actually get my hair cut.

My hair cuts cost me $20 - if I get color at the salon plus a cut, it is usually around $60. But I have a short pixie-type hair cut so if I want to keep it trimmed, it's about every 5 to 6 weeks. I might get it colored 2 or 3 times a year. I don't mind coloring it myself, but my hairdresser always seems to give me grief, or appear to disapprove, if I do. Sheesh!
