Spilled Millk in Car......
My son's sippy cup was dropped in the car and it leaked soy milk on the floorboard. I have scrubbed it with Resolve, used Kirby Carpet shampoo and have sprayed Febreeze on it, but I cannot get rid of the smell. Does anyone have ANY suggestions? We are going to try shampooing the carpet in that area this weekend but I am not even sure that will help. It is making me crazy though and it smells horrible!! I am open to any advice!!
Thanks!
K.

Eww, stinky!
I love the product "Kids and Pets" (I think it's called).
I got it at Walmart (but you can get it online). You just squirt it on, soak it, let it dry, and smell and stain disappear! Having 2 dogs and a toddler, I go thru bottles of the stuff and it has yet to fail! (Most other products have let me down!)
Good luck!

K.,
We had the same problem and just called a local man that cleaned carpets and he only charged $25 to come out and clean the spot in the car. It never smelled again!

Hi K.,
I am a marketing executive with a company called Melaleuca and we have fabulous SAFE and Effective products. One is called SOL-U-Mel and it's a great stain lifter and deodorizer, I'm pretty confident it would help your problem of the spilled milk! if interested give me a response and I could show you more. Oxy-clean may discolor the carpet

If you shampoo the carpet that should to the trick. I even just used the one at the car wash. It worked for me & I was the one who spilled the milk! Oops! Good luck!

Could I suggest that you talk to your dry cleaner...and see if there isnt something that they know of that will help. Years ago...I had the same thing happen...only it was an entire gallon of milk that rolled under the back seat of the van...was forgotten and proceeded to ferment for a week or two until I finally figured out where that awful smell was coming from.
I do know that you have to chemically neutralize the odor...the same concept as when you pour vinegar on a pet urine stain to neutralize it but I am just not sure WHAT you use!!!
Hopefully the dry cleaners can guide you in the right direction.
Good luck!!

It is in the padding. My girl friend spilled a whole gallon and had to replace the carpet and padding. Good luck!

Hi K.,
Get "Nature's Miracle" from your pet store. It takes out everything I've had to use it on, even chocolate stains on the car seat that was hidden from me for several days! It comes in a spray bottle. Good Luck! S.

I know they are not cheap.. But Car Star is really good at getting a car back to the like new condition.
I would think the bigger concern is how to make sure it doesn't happen again. We moms are notoriously bad about letting the kids eat and drink in the car.

Try sprinkling dry baking soda on it and let sit overnight and vacuum up. If you shampoo, treat the area with white vinegar. This is good for removing smells.
Hope one or both work for you.
