Specialty Painting

Hi Moms:

A few years back we used a great faux painter who did a beautiful job for us at a reasonable cost. What she did was totally unique and I have never seen the style in anyone else's home. We are ready to repaint and she is no longer running her business. So, I am in search of a painter who does some special work - some call faux painting - I call it unique painting.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks in advance!
M.

Hi M.! I just recently did the "faux painting" in my diningroom (we did wrag-rolling). I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I did it myself. I had never done anything like that before. I learned how to properly do it at Lowe's. At their paint counter they had a pamphlet that shows you step by step what to do. It's pretty fool-proof. And, it was a super fun project for me, my hubby & our daughter. I'm thrilled with how it looks. So if you don't get any bites on this post, that may be an option for you. Much luck!!! :)

I know a woman who does incredible work like what you are looking to find. Her work is custom, very creative & unique. I really could go on and on about what a fabulous job she does...

Here is her info:

A friend of mine does this. Check out his website.

He painted our house but we didn't do any faux painting but I know he does it and there are examples on his website.
His prices are reasonable and he's a really professional guy.

My husband does that kind of work. He did "marbleing" on our cement steps going down to our basement and did a beautiful muted rag roll in the dining/living room. He also did a faux stucco look, where it looks like the wall crumbled away exposing the orgininal wallpaper, in our kitchen (kinda Tuscany-like). He will work with you to find out the exact look you are going for, and if he can't do it, he may be able to put you in touch with someone who can. His website is www.eyeoftheaxis.net and you can email or call him from there.
Good luck!

Try this woman; Carol Melnyk. She does great work! This is her website;

Have fun with your decorating project. Take care.
