Special Needs Program
S.T.A.R. Music (Speech Therapy And Recreational Music)is a fun, parent-child class, at which children work on their individual communication objectives. This is a relatively new program, and I am always looking for ideas. Whom better to ask than moms? If you have a child with special needs, please let me know three aspects you would be interested in seeing implemented in a program that is conducted in a small group setting, and led by a speech-language pathologist. Thank you for your time - I know you don't have much to spare.

Hello, I am a fullt time college student and stay at home Mom. My son does not have any special needs yet, however I was looking into speech therapy for a degree choice. Can you tell me anything about your job? Do you love it? How hard was it to get established? What can I do in the sign language field? Can I buy some flash cards or get some info on how to help my son learn to speak? I am working on my Associates right now and it will be a couple more years until I move on to a bachelor program at a University.
Any info you can give me will be great.
Thanks C.

Hi S., My husband and I have recently been advised that our 2 yr old son needs to be screened by ECI for PDD/autism He mostly has need for speech therapy supposedly. My husband has been a stay at home dad but also his past career before our little one came along was in child development. We would love to see any type of play group with other children involving any type of therapy common to this type of child. He is not only delayed with communication but has trouble with consonants even when saying "mommy" Please let us know of any valuable info. you could share or if you are beginning such a group. We appreciate the experts as speech is slightly beyond our grasp regarding how best to proceed. Thank you to all you moms out there. This is a very valuable site. Thanks, Kim

Hi, I am interested in a fun Speech Therapy program for my 2 yr old daughter who has Apraxia. We are new to the area. We live in the Carrollton/Plano area of Dallas. I would like to know if you have programs sessions? Also, is this something done through Managed Care programs? Please, tell me more.
