Soon to Be Single Mom Needing Help on Getting Financial Help
I was informed last night that I am going to be a single mom and though I think I could make it with rent and such only with the child support I should receive but I would need help with child care. Does anyone know where or how I should start with this? This is a very sudden surprise to me and I'm just trying my best to keep it together and I want/need to be a strong, stable, positive influence for my son and I don't want him to see his Mama fall on her face in this transition... I would gladly appreciate any and all help. I assume I will still be residing in Hamilton County, Ohio.
Thank you!!!

Are you still pregnant, or do you already have a son? The Department of Children and Families (I'm not sure what it's called in Ohio- look at the Dept. of Health in Ohio) has a WIC (Women, Infant, Children) program that may be able to help you.
That is where I would start. I'm sorry to hear about your news.

You can go to the job and family service building and apply for daycare vouchers. You can also go online and print off the packet that you need, fill it out, and send them in. the website is www.hcjfs.org. go up under childcare and it can direct you from there. hope this helps.

assuming you'll be in hamilton county you can call ###-###-#### and it'll give you a list of options. there is one for child care vouchers so you can talk to them about anything you need to know. the income limit for a 2 person family is $1959 i believe, but once you're approved for the vouchers the limit goes up so you don't lose vouchers for getting a 20cent raise a month later. anyhow, good luck! i'm currently a single mom of 2 in the process of getting daycare vouchers in hamilton county so i can go to school and do better for my kids too.
