Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole we used that song as well...and got tons of complimants. We actually used it to walk down the aisle.

Stand by me is always good...you can use the updated one..not sure who sings it...but it is a good song.

My Husband danced with his mother to Have I told you Lately That I Love You by Rod Stewart because his mom and him don't necessarily have a vocal relationship (they never tell each other they love each other, it's the way she raised him), so he picked it as a way of showing her that he did love her and didn't have to say it. It's a beautiful song, and a lot of people know it, not to mention that it could be about a couple in love or any part of your family you love.

I agree,, rascal flats.. (sp).. the "my wish" song is gorgeous and meaningful. we are going to dedicate it to my daughter and her fiancee at her wedding this November.. that is how much I love it. Congratulations and enjoy your beautiful day!

What about "Dance with my Father" by Luther Vandros? The content of the song is not that great (as his father left his mother), but its been a popular wedding song as he wanted to be able to dance with his father.

or Brandy has a song "Best Friend" which talks about siblings being best friends.

Being in the same situation, with my father passed away and having my brother walk me down the aisle, I let him choose the song. He chose 'What a wonderful world'

So the cheese factor will be high on my suggestions but I like all three songs - "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor, "That's What Friends are for" by Dionne Warwick & Friends and "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. Congratulations and best wishes!

Congratulations- WHat a crazy week you must be having, huh? My suggestion would be somgs by Collin Raye- he's a country singer- and I am not into country, but his ballads are awesome. Hi M.! My brother gave me away at my wedding and he picked the song "Forever Young" by the Pretenders (not Rod Stewart), it was a beautiful song. Or what about "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts? Good luck and congrats!!

My father also passed away before my wedding, and I don't have a brother, but my husband and I cut our cake to Somewhere over the rainbow/what a wonderful world by the hawaiin guy that everyone else has mentioned. We still have people tell us what a beautiful song it was. Good luck on your wedding day and remember that your father is with you!
