My daughter turns 1 on the 6th of January we are having her party at the Dupage Childrens Museum. We also looked at My Gym by Fox Valley both offer stuff for their age. If you have older children attending also both are good as well as bowling parties. Bowling was just a little more money than we wanted to spend for her first party.

Hi there!
We are having our son's first birthday the 31st of this month, so I am right there with you. We ended up doing a pizza party, and at first I was against the idea, but if you are looking at having more than 10 people, it is deffinatly the way to go! We are having ours at Edwardo's, and my girlfriend is having a party on the 30th at Lou Malnatti's. Most pizza places already have party packages, and include pizza, salad, drinks and the like. It is fairly reasonable, ours is $8.95 per person, and that is for 30 people, 8 pizzas, unlimited drinks, salad and cookies. They offer a party room, and give you all the paperware you need. They even set up the room and give you a gift table, if you need it!
Let me know if this helps.

I also know of some places like Gymboree, and My Gym that do parties as well. I also was looking into the Kohl Children's Museum, and if you have a museum near you, that M. be an option as well. Lots of room for kids to play and explore, they M. have food available, and a partyroom as well. If cost is a factor, the pizza is for sure the way to go.
Good luck!
E.

I am not sure where you live, but most park districts have decently priced rooms you can rent.

My daughter's first birthday is January 21st and I looked into Gymboree for a party but then quickly realized I would need tp have 2 seperate parties, one for her little friends and one for our family so I opted to do just do an in-house party for her. I am keeping it relatively small with only about 20 ish adults and 10 kids. Since my house is so tiny we're actually doing an open house rather than a party so that people can come and go as they please, which is perfect for those friends with nap schedules to contend with as well.

Good luck and congrats....that first year just flies by.

My cousin had her daughters first birthday party at Lou Malnatti's - although it's not a place where kids can really play it was nice to have some family members and if you ask for the enclosed deck area you will have room if the kids do want to run around a little bit. Congratulations on the first year - what an exciting milestone!!!!!! Wishing many more to come!
