Dearest K. C.,
I am truly sorry for your loss. You are truly a wonderful person to want to help people when you are in so much pain. I will keep you in my nightly prayers.
On the same note-when my third daughter was five-she had strep. She also had a very bad habbit of bitting her toe nails. One morning she woke with a hugh red toe and red lines running up her leg. The doctor said she had gotten the strep infection in her toe and was very serious. It all turned out well-Thank GOD. She was so scared she never bit her toe nails again. But who knew you could get strep in other parts of your body too.
May God Bless You!!!

I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your daughter. Mennigitis is such a scary disease and so easily misdiagnosed, as you unfortunately know. I hope they are treating your granddaughter appropriately now. You have been through so much...I know that saying.."God only gives you what you can handle".. and it never gives me comfort. I would rather be weak and happy. You and your family are in our prayers.

Hi K.-
I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. What was the cause of death? Was it from the medicine that was prescribed to her? Or was she allergic to something? Or was it a reaction to other medications she may have been taken?

K., thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I know a child who had strep and was treated as usual with anti-biotics. He never seemed to feel well afterward, and kept getting unexplained aches, low grade fevers, etc., until finally one day a doctor ran a more specific blood test on him. Of course, he still had strep and needed much more aggressive treatment. Fortunately he is now well, but I have learned to be much more cautious with strep and watchful for any unexplained fevers, pains.
I am so sorry for your pain and loss, and wish you much love and light. I am struggling with many of life's key stressors--divorce, depressed 7 year old son, mother with dementia, moving to another home and office, death of pets--all seemed to have converged at once and I pray to the Lord for strength and light, and hopefully some humor thrown in for good measure. Know that you are being held.

K., I am so so sorry for your loss. You will never, if you live to be 90, get over the loss of her. It must be very difficult but you have to be there for your other children and for her children. Memories are a wonderful thing. Share them with her daughter. I have three children and I pray I go long before them. But we really do not have that choice. We have to play the cards that are dealt to us. My aunt lost 4 out of 8 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. When at one of the services a priest described a loss this way and I never forgot it. He said, "Visualize yourself standing on a beach and watching a cruise ship going buy, eventually that cruise ship goes out of sight. Now you know that cruise ship is still there, you just can't see it". As with your daughter just because you can't see her doesn't mean she is not there. I hope this is a comfort to you. Take care.
