Soflt Stools Before Labor?

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone had loose or soft stools prior to giving birth? IF you did how long did it last?

Right now I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. I am almost 2 cm dilated and over 50% effaced. I am getting induced on Oct 20th due to medical issues...

What can I do next?

Cant say that I had soft stools, I actually just before for about a week before was very hard in the tummy. Congrats on the new little boy on his way in your life!!

Be thankful for the stop stools, its your body's way of cleaning itself out before delivery. My water broke 2 week before dd and I started having soft stools at the same time, therefore was still having them as labor progressed. Luckily having a BM during labor is normal or I would have been mortified but I barely noticed! Congrats your little boy :-)

Hi K.,

I had loose stools starting at 37 weeks and it lasted until I gave birth at 39 weeks. I was 4 cm dilated and 90% effaced for those 2 weeks as well.

Best wishes to you for a safe delivery! :)

I too am 37 weeks. I am 1cm and 60%. I started having some loose stools two days ago. Yesterday and so far today, I'm having a lot more "crampy" feelings and some lower back pain. I'm hoping that all of this means labor is soon!!! I know that sometimes it doesn't mean much though :(

Sometimes, this could be a sign of labor coming on. Your body will try to clean itself out - so to say- before you go into labor. How long it lasts is different. For me it was 1 day and I went into labor....sometimes i've heard it's the week before. Sometimes it comes and goes for a couple weeks.
