My 4yr old daughter has expressed an interest in wanting to try soccer this summer. I am having a hard time finding somewhere in the South Hills that has soccer for anyone under the age of 5. If anyone has any suggestions or knows of a place that has soccer for under age 5, that would be great.

What can I do next?

I know my nephew played last year and he was only 4. They live in Peters Township, I don't know how far away that is from where you live. Good luck!

I don't know of any soccer teams in the area for a 4 year old. I did ask my boyfriend who is a soccer coach (in the Washington area), if he knows of any soccer clubs for that age and he said no. However, he did say you could ask the teams in your area if they would let your child play on the team even though he/she was not old enough. He said some teams might let your child play. I hope that this helps.

Hello,

You may want to check with the YMCA. My son was 4 and we did the soccer with his older sister and it was great for both of them.

hi J., My youngest daughter has been playing soccer since she turned 4. Soccer sign-ups are usually by June 30 but soccer doesn't start until August. (Indoor soccer is in Jan & Feb) Maybe if you contact our Association president he would have the contact information about a program closer to you. Check out the Web site: East Allegheny Athletic Association Soccer at easoccer.org Have fun!! We do.

Yes--the YMCA in the cloverleaf area definitely does, because my son's friend was too young for our Township's soccer program but was able to play there!

My daughter was in the Mt. Lebanon pre-school soccer league last year when she was 4. It'll be running May 19 - June 14 and then again in the fall for another month. Look on mtlebanon.org, find recreation center, etc., and you can see the details.

I am not sure where you are in the South Hills but the Cloverleaf/South Hills YMCA has a great Soccer program for 3-5 year olds in the Spring and Summer. My daughter played when she was 3.5 and she loved it.

They also have some really great swimming programs for all ages.
