We recently put our son in a soccer league and he is doing great. He is two years old and he seems to really enjoy playing. Practices are in Longwood. Here's the website: http://www.floridastarsac.com/

After raising three kids in soccer...the best kids started early and quit early....we really needed our best players to follow on up in high school/Lyman High and many were just plan burned out....

Play and home and find some play groups which meet at local parks making it just fun....be careful starting organized sports so young....many talented kids quit because it's just year after year and they want to try someting out new....problem is in high school it's almost too late to try new things...teams want to win and you must try out....so vary the activities, make sure school and family are first and that it is "EXTRAcurricular." Some of our best atheletes regardless of race, socioeconomical, or other are on the bench because all emphasis at home was on the sport and not grades...At Lyam one of our best track stars was benched because of grades below 2.0...well enough of that you have a little one...play with he or she in the yard and ask some neighbors over.....check out a good development book on children so you know how and when the coordination follows. When a child is growning they loose and gain it all along like a puppy with big feet...this goes up and down. Good luck and just make sure you are alway smiling and having fun with sports.....it gets serious enough soon enough----D.

I know the Winter Park YMCA will start their soccer program on March 1st. But I think the youngest they take them is age 3 (i'm not positive). Check with your YMCA. They may all be different with their programs.

I don't think they offer group sports for that age group. I believe the reason is because, it's diificult for the child to follow the rules. Most of the time they offer activities like dance, gymnastics, ect. The children will enjoy those and there is no pressure. I am an early childhood profesional and mother of 3 grown sons.
