I kept asking this same thing and people kept telling me babies can gum anything and I got super annoyed because I really didn't think my baby could but guess what -- I took a leap of faith and slowly starting upping the stuff he ate and now he actually does eat everything (soft and chopped up of course). Like today, his lunch is fried rice with a medley of veggies. For snacks, he eats tofu cubes, steamed brocooli, steamed apples (steamed anything - fruits/veggies), meat that is tender and chopped up super small (almost shredded), bread with cheese, yogurt, cheerios. I'm giving him watermelon today for the 1st time.

Mashed banana, very ripe avacado, watermelon, peaches cut up without the skin, cheerios broken in half, toast with butter cut up in very small pieces. You can buy these strainers too that you put food in and they suck on. I found them at babies r us. Those are awesome!

cereal pieces, goldfish crackers, banana , cooked pasta, any kind of cooked veggie. baked apple slices cut into chunks. Cheese cubes , little pieces of bread.

Baby yogurt
apple sauce
The Gerber dissolvable snacks....I'm drawing a blank on what they are called but they come in a tube and look like stars.....
You could get some fresh fruit.soft veggies and then get one of the net things to use

Apple sauce. cheese puffs (not curls) my son loved them!! and ice cream, yogurt anything that is soft enough for the baby to chew without getting choked!
