How about pigs in a blanket?? (little hotdogs wrapped in a crescent rolls $6) or bruschetta and a toasty bread / cracker (I get it at Costco $10). You could also ask everyone to bring their favorite appetizer. That is what we always do. Have a great time!!

This is SUPER easy and ALWAYS a hit!
Decadent Brie en Croute
Non-stick vegetable or olive oil spray
1 very cold small Brie cheese (8-10 oz)
1 tube of crescent rolls
1 T. Liqueur (I use Amaretto)
2 T. brown sugar
½ c. chopped pecans
*The brown sugar, pecans, and liqueur will be used on the inside and outside. Use the same amount each time, so in total, you will use twice what is listed above.
For best results, put Brie in freezer for about 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350. Spray baking sheet with nonstick spray.
Cut top layer of rind off cheese. Pierce cheese with knife (to allow liqueur to soak in). On baking sheet, make a sunkist with the triangles of the crescent rolls, the points facing out. Place cheese in center of Sunkist. Pour brown sugar, pecans, and liqueuer on cheese. Wrap crescent rolls around cheese, sealing cheese inside, forming a peak at the top. Top with brown sugar, pecans, and liqueur. Bake in 350 oven for 28-33 minutes. If nuts start to get too brown, cover loosely with foil. Allow to rest 10 minutes prior to serving.
Serve warm with crackers, apples, or grapes.

I have made the buffalo chicken dip off of allrecipes.com several times. You might want to adjust the hot sauce to taste, but I haven't had anyone not like it! It's definitely not any more expensive than 7 layer dip to make. I do use my food chopper (pampered chef) to chop my chicken instead of having chunks of chicken so it's a smoother dip, but that's just me...

I like cheesecake dip with fruit, just mix an 8 oz. package of cream cheese with 1/2 t. of vanilla and about 2 T. powdered sugar (more or less to taste) and serve with fruit. I like to put the fruit on skewers. Another popular snack in my family is ham and cheese in puff pastry. Just get a package of frozen puff pastry, thaw, roll it out a bit into 2 identical squares (there are 2 pieces per box). Spread a bit of dijon mustard on one piece, then layer on 4oz. of ham, sliced thin and the same amount of sliced cheese, I like provolone, but you can use whatever you like or have around, cheddar and swiss are also good. Leave about 1/2 inch border around the edge. Lay the other piece of pastry over the top, use a fork to press the edges together, brush with eggwash and bake at 425 for 15-18 minutes. Serve warm.
Have fun!

Google appetizers. There are so many you will be amazed. I personally love anything with meat, vegetables or cheese. I have made tasty beef skewers with just marinating meat in Italian salad dressing and broiling, and I make the best "semi-homemade" salsa and chips by arranging a big bowl of salsa with a huge dollop of sour cream in the center and arranging around the perimeter sliced jalepenos, black olives, and chopped onions.
Then surround it with the best tortilla chips you can find (I am in love with the new El Milagro chips). We also love chicken dip made with canned chicken with a little mayo and Mrs. Dash seasoning served with crackers. You know the old fashioned Onion Dip is still a good bet, but use something unique to dip, such as pepper strips, carrots, or french fries . I also make a good dip (how old is this...but new to many people) with one jar of Cheeze Whiz, one can of Durkee French Fried Onions, and one can of Hormel Chili-no beans. Mix it together and heat in the microwave. Serve with Natcho Cheese Doritos for the best flavor combo. Good Luck with your party.

Pretzel Dip
This is a Pampered Chef recipe that I've used for years. I put out Toasteds onion flavor crackers to spread it on as well as the pretzels to dip in it ... always get lots of compliments on it, and it keeps in the fridge for 2-3 weeks at least.
3-8oz pkgs of cream cheese (you can use Neufchafel cheese--fewer
calories) (room temperature)
1 stick (1/2 c.) of butter (no margarine, please) (room temperature)
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dry dressing/dip mix (I've tried substitutes...
not as good)
1/2 c. parmesan or romano (orig recipe calls for only 1/4 c... more is better)
1 t. cracked black pepper
I mix the pepper in with all other ingredients; the original recipe calls for cracked pepper to be sprinkled on top and to add more as the dip is eaten
I put out quartered, thinly sliced salami with this sometimes; proscuitto or any other cold cut you like would be good too.
