I do a great pot roast in mine...very simple too and delicous!

1 beef roast
1 can of beef broth
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 bag frozen baby carrots

Pour broth and soup mix in crock pot. Brown the roast and place in pot with carrots on top and salt and pepper. Cook on low for 8 hours. Great with rice or mashed potatoes!

My crockpot is my friend.

Try these easy, schmeasy recipes:

(1) Boneless, Skinless chicken breast with 1/2 a bottle of your favorite salsa. Shred chicken with a fork and serve with tortillas and whatever taco toppings you like.

(2) Boneless, Skinless chicken breast with heart healthy bottled marinara sauce. Shred chicken with a fork and serve with whatever pasta you like.

(3) Boneless, Skinless chicken breast with a can of green chile and a cup of chicken broth. Shred chicken with a fork and serve with tortillas and whatever taco toppins you like.

(4) Boneless, Skinless chicken breast with 1 can cream of mushroom soup, add a cup or two of frozen mixed veggies after 6 hours, shred chicken with a fork and serve on top of a biscuit or your favorite bread.

I hope you enjoy these.

Last week I did one that actually came out pretty good :p. I tossed a bunch of chicken breasts in (6 - they were still frozen)...then dumped on top...
- 2 cans of black beans
- 1 can of corn (you could leave this out...since your hubby doesn't like corn)
- 2 cans of diced tomatoes w/ chipotles (or you could use the ones that have diced green chiles)
- I wanted to add an extra can of diced green chiles...but forgot...
- 1/2 to 1 onion (chopped)
- a bunch of taco seasoning (didn't measure.... :/)
- some water/broth (again...didn't measure...sorry...probably the equiv. of 2-3 cans)

then I served it w/ sour cream and grated cheddar...was going to chop some cilantro and sprinkle it on top...but my cilantro was starting to turn icky...

It was quite tasty :) However, I must admit...it really didn't taste all that special w/out the sour cream...I didn't even use a lot...but it really did it ;)

My mom gave me 3 GREAT cookbooks for Christmas. The Slow Cooker is one of my favorite cookbooks NOW. Its called "Rival Crock Pot Slow Cooker Recipes"

Happy Cooking

I just made a cake in mine! I was really surprised how it turned out. I googled crock pot cake and happened upon a video on youtube. I have never cooked anything based on a viedo alone before. I also LOVE allrecipes.com for all kinds of cooking stuff. They have a whole slow cooker section. Have fun! And remember that any of the recipes you find can be scaled down or changed to reflect the lower fat versions....read the reviews to see what other people have done before you.

i used to take it to kids' events with hot dogs which are ready in an hour.
