Sleepwear for 6.5 Month Old...

We put ours in a sleeper and her blankie that has holes in (croched) and it was the only one that I felt comfortable with. That blanket is now her blankie!! He's old enough that I wouldn't worry about it so much. If he can move around, he's fine.

If he's wearing a onesie or undershirt and footie jammies he should be good if there's no draft. They do make sleep sacks for kids, so I am sure you could find one that fits him! If he can roll over so easily, he probably can swat the blanket off his face if it gets in his way, so you may try a blanket tucked into the crib that will cover up to the spot between his navel and chest. That strategy worked for my daughter- but my son was too squirmy and ended up sleeping through the night with no blanket. Another suggestion is to get a space heater for his room.

the Halo sleep sacks are made in sizes up to 5, so you should be able to find one that fits. (see link here: https://www.halosleep.com/products/results/?product_categ...) They're wide at the foot end to allow movement - I can still picture one of my twins at around age 2 standing up and toddling in hers.

Costco is a great place for getting the carters fleece blanket sleepers - less than $10 each and loads of sizes and cute patterns.

Our house was very cold and drafty - we probably had our thermo set at 60 at night - but we could layer cotton jammies, fleece blanket sleepers, and sleep sacks as needed to keep our kiddos warm enough.

My son is now 21 months old and has been sleeping in his crib since he was 6 weeks old. During the winter, we set the thermostat at 65 and put him to bed in the fleece jammies with feet. When he was smaller I would peek in to make sure he was covered, he never was, but he was warm to touch which was comforting. He loves his blanket now but more so as a lovey. Good luck to you!

I would use blanket sleepers, or if those are too warm, you can get the ones that are lighter material but still have cuffs on the wrists and ankles so they don't ride up at night and leave their little arms and legs exposed. If he is a restless sleeper then blankets aren't going to do a lot of good and I would agree that I would worry about the possibility of it getting wound around him.
Good luck with transitioning to a crib...I can see that it might be an issue after co-sleeping. Both of our daughters co-sleep with their sons and have not faced this issue yet...I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Blanket sleepers :) They are made of the same material as sleep sacks, but they have legs. My kids slept in them since very young (although I prefer the snap version when really young), and my son loved them until he potty trained. You can find them just about anywhere.

My son has been wearing them since 6 months and he is now 2.5 and still in them. Because they have leg holes, it won't interfere with him learning to crawl in his crib.

They make sleep sacs in all sizes and they allow them to move unlike a swaddle.

Our son is 7 months, 20 lbs, and we've had him in a sleepsac since he was 5 months. He has no problem moving around in his crib. Even as I write this I can't see him in the monitor because he's moved again.

They make sleepsacs for 2 and 3 year olds so they make them big enough and in fleece fabrics. You shouldn't have a problem and it's definitely much safer then using a blanket.

What a big boy!!

My 7 month old sleeps in her cot to start with and then I bring her into bed during the night when she wants to feed (yes she still night feeds, and yes I wish it would stop).

We are coming up to winter now so I guess I'll deal with these problems soon, but I just make sure she's got enough clothes on and she sleeps with a blanket, but it's a really light blanket and very airy so I doubt she could get herself into much trouble with that. She is old enough now that she pulls away from my pillow/shoulder to get air when she isn't getting enough.

I would try one of those blanket sleeper things. In Aus, I've seen them for size 1. Best of luck!

They do make large sleep sacks. We used them until my son was at least 18 months. They can move around in them. My son would crawl all over the place with his own.
