Sleep Sheep or Other Sound Machine Recommendation
Does anybody have the "Sleep Sheep" or any other sound machine they really liked for their infant? I need something to drown out some of the household noise for my 7 week old little boy while he's trying to nap. I have a 2 1/2 year old as well, and as much as I try to have her do some quiet activities while he's napping, anybody that has had a 2 year old knows it's not possible to keep them quiet all the time! :) I am trying to get him used to sleeping through the noise, but I think a little white noise or some type of sound machine would help him a lot. So I'm just looking for any recommendations on ones that you liked a lot???

We just used a small ciircular fan on the floor of their room - easy to find, easy to replicate at someone else's house!

I really like the sleep sheep. I bought the smaller version which is plenty big. My son slept with it until he was over a year old. I now have a 3 month old and he doesn't seem phased by his 2.5 year old brother's loud voice.

We have a small clip on fan attached to my daughter's dresser. She's almost 4 and we've used it since she was a baby.

I have not personally tried the sleep sheep, but I can totally vouch for cloud b products! They are wonderful and very well made. The only reason we didn't get the sleep sheep, is because our alarm clocks have great white noise features. You can get white noise machines, too. I've seen them at places, like bed bath and beyond. Most alarm clocks will have them. White noise really does help my son. We live facing a street and have lots of dogs, in the neighborhood. I don't even notice all the commotion with white noise.

I have the sleep sheep in my 8mo room and it seems to work great. I also plug my ipod into my sons room at night and do a repeat on the couple sleep sounds i downloaded from iTunes. That way When baby brother naps he has some white noise and at night if the baby cries it doesn't wake up my older son.
Good Luck!

We have the homedics sound machine and projector. Love it! I used it with my daughter (now almost 3, stopped with her at around 1.5 or 2) and using it now with my 7 month old. Don't know what we would do without it. Our projector stopped moving the images about a year into having it, but we didn't mind. It was basically needed for the nightlight and sound making aspect, not the entertaining moving picture. Good luck!

I just recently got the sleep sheep for me second on the way but find it works like magic on my 2 yr old. My neighbor uses it for her 6 month and 3 year old as well. We actually had a Rainforest sound maker in my sons crib that he loved. As he got a little older, he learned he could hit the toucan and turn it on himself!

My boys loved the sleep sheep when they were babies. Later I had the HomeMedics (I think that is what it is called) sound machine with projector, which I also use with my 19 month old daughter. It has several sounds to choose from and projects images on the ceiling.

I just use a small fan for white noise, pointed away from baby of course.
