Sleep Schedule - Davenport,FL

Do your kids get way off schedule around the holidays?
My daughter has been off of school since the 16th. I took her out of school a few days to spend time with her big sister and to go to Disney (before the holiday rush). She is ahead in school so she isn't missing much, they are also out all this week. So since my SD has been here my hubby lets the girls stay up late. I have been trying to get them to bed near their normal time and getting them up early. I am dreading next Monday, my daughter is going to be so tired at school.

She goes to private school that is closed the entire week of Thanksgiving. I took her out three days the week before.

What can I do next?

If she is off for an entire week for Thanksgiving, why the need for 3 days the prior week? Anyway, yes, during Holidays and visits to or from the relatives cause us to get off our schedules. I only have 1 child so it's really not a big deal. As long as he is feeling ok then let them enjoy the holidays, that is what being a kid is about.

She might be tired Monday but so what. She will live and her body will adjust like everyone else. Why would you get kids up early when they have nowhere to go??? Give them a break that everyone deserves.

Yes, we all got off our schedule this break. We also got a week off and my husband was off the whole week also. We have been staying up late and sleeping until almost 10. It has been kinda nice getting to sleep in. I am sure all the kids will be tired on Monday after the long holiday break.

out since the 16th?!?!? holy smokes batman - that's a long holiday break!! or is she going to a year-round school?

When the kids are off school - we typically let them stay up until 11 or maybe even 12 - for a few nights - the Saturday and Sunday before school starts - on Saturday they are at 10PM and Sunday - 9PM...

Since today is Friday - get her on her normal bedtime tonight and tomorrow night - she should be fine on Monday morning!!

I let the kids stay up an hour or two late most of the time. On Sunday evening they'll be in bed on time. It really doesn't effect them that much.

I hear you about Monday! Personally, I work very hard at making sure my kids don't get too far off their sleep schedules during vacations (except for summer, of course). The drama on Monday simply isn't worth it...and I have teenagers! If they want to "get around" my mean-old-mommy antics, they simply read in bed. They know I'll not be sympathetic on Monday if they're tired and crabby!
