Hello Moms,

Has anyone tried the Cindy Crawford’s Meaningful Beauty 5-PC Skincare System? Right now I am using Olay products, but not seeing much change in the way of dark spots. I am highly allergic to products that have a high content of Aloe-Vera. I have tried several products, and I understand I have to use the products for 3-6mos to see some type of change.

Thanks Moms for all your advice in advance.

What can I do next?

About 2 months ago I completely changed my skin care regiment and from the responses I get--it's working. So much so that my sister, who has tried everything from ProActive to Estee Lauder to Cover Girl, asked me last week to email her what I'm doing because she says it's made that much of a difference.

In the morning, I scrub my face with Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit facial scrub using a facial loofah. The loofah was rough at first but I got used to it and it really helps to exfoliate the skin. Then I get a washcloth damp with hot water and hold it to my face for a 10 seconds. This opens the pores. Then I apply Neutrogena's Visibly Even moisturizer. From there I do my usual make-up routine. At night I used Neutrogena's Lavendar face scrub. All products are inexpensive and found anywhere.

I'm telling you--it took a couple of weeks to notice changes but by four weeks, there was a stark difference.

Good luck. Like you--I'm 32 and a mother of 2 girls, ages 6 & 4.

too funny! I typically use Olay products and Origins products and just ordered the Cindy Crawford stuff. I have tried it and not sure if I will like it for the long haul. My skin is really dry and the moisturizers don't feel moistening enough. The other red flag so far is that it is more perfumy than I like. But, i will keep you posted.

The only way I diminished my dark spots was consistent exfoliation (about 2-3 week)and lots of sunscreen and hat wearing. You have to keep up with the exfoliation process for a while and then protect the new skin to keep the dark spots from recurring. If i could afford it, I would always buy Origins. It feels and smells wonderful. They have great stuff for exfoliation (apricot scrub and one as a microderm abrasion). And I think the line by Dr. Weil helps with evening the skin tone. But....it is expensive.

I'm 37 and always get compliments on my skin but I have to work on it. Good luck!

Hi R.,
I would suggest that you try Mary Kay products. The products are great and you can have a personal consultant who will work with you as an individual to get what you need for your skin type. If something does not work for you, your consultant can exchange it for what will work.
There is a product called TimeWise Even Complexion Essence that is to restore the skin's natural even tone by helping to reduce the visible dark spots. Log on to www.marykay.com to find a consultant in your area or if you would like to visit my website, it is www.marykay.com/bwilliams90345.
Hope this helps.

I've tried the Meaningful Beauty, but I didn't like it. The moisturizer is OK, but the other stuff isn't that great. I went back to proactive which makes my face so soft and brightens my complexion. I also use Cetaphil moisturizing cream which is really cheap from Wal-Mart. I have sensitive skin & a little rosacea so this is what works best for me. Everyone's skin is different and you may like the Meaningful Beauty. At least you can call and cancel if you order it and don't like it. That's what I did. I still use it from time to time just so I don't waste it. Good luck finding something that works for you!

I love the Alba organic sea mineral line of cleansers and moisturizers and I have tried lots of other brands over the years, including Olay products that I cannot stand because they contain a lot of alcohol that really dry my skin out. I purchase my Alba products at ULTA. Hope this helps.

I have been using a product called Tri-Luma and it's a cream and have been using it for about 10 years. The dark spots never went away and still have to use it. I am very light skin and the dark spots show up really well. It is a prescription cream but you can find it on line under malasma, which is what the dark spots are called.
Good luck.
