Size 16 Dress Needed

Hello All! I am looking for a dress for a young lady in my Cadette Scout Troop. She is in NJROTC this year at her school and has the opertunity to attend the Military ball. She doesn't wear dresses very often, but if she had one to wear she would go. My daughter(her Best Friend) is attending with her brother, and I'd hate for her to miss out. Does anyone have a dress, brides maid dress, gown they are not useing, or do you know of any shops that sell realy cheap ($30- or less) dresses. Some of the "Closets" Don't give away their dresses till prom season. Thank you in advance for any help, you'll make a girl very happy!

What can I do next?

J., go to the salvation army store on douglas road in aurora. they have just received a huge shipment of beautiful formal dresses in all sizes / colors. sequins, sparkles, just very dressy. a store went out of business is my guess but they are beautiful. my daughter's husband is in the military and she got hers for the real military ball.

Hi J.:

I just might. Let me take a look today and I will send you a message back. How old is she? I want to make sure I find something age appropriate if possible.

Hi! I have a nice white dress-not to formal from Kohls-size 14 womens, that would probably fit. I have never worn it-tags still on. I would be willing to donate. Also, there is a second hand store in Montgomery-off of Montgomery Rd. and Route 30 that has really great deals on all kinds of clothes, including formal wear-Good Luck. Maria

I have some old (hint 25 years old, yikes, is that really true?) dresses from high school. 2 were bridesmaid dresses, at least one I can think of is knee length, don't know if you are needing floor length. Obviously, these will not be the epitome of fashion. If you'd like to come check out to see if one would work, we can arrange. It would be the reason that would justify why I've kept them for so long (other than dress up for my daughter)! Not completely sure what size, I'll check if you're interested. I live in Yorkville. Another idea, have you tried Goodwill? One opened in Yorkville @1 year ago. Another idea is Caring Hands Thrift Shop, it's run by Cross Lutheran Church, on Rt. 47 in Yorkville. I've noticed lots of fancy dresses, haven't ever looked at them so don't know price range. They'd definitely be more in fashion than mine! ____@____.com

I have one that might work. It is really beautiful, but it might have to be taken in in the bust. That would be easy due to the straps. If you are interested I will send you my number. Let me know.

J.,
I have a bridesmaid dress that you are more than welcome to have, it may need some altering (i am very tall), but it would be free! it is a purpley color, sleeveless with beading around the middle, very pretty, fairly plain. i can take a picture and email it to you if you would like. i even have size 10 shoes to match if they would fit. let me know.

I've got a size 16W bridemaids dress from last fall she can have. It's floor length satin, red with a black band. It's pretty low cut, but if she has a black tanktop to wear underneath, it should be okay for a teen. I live in Plainfield - email me at ____@____.com if you're interested.
