Sippy Cups - San Marcos,TX

My daughter will only drink water from a sippy cup, and she's picky about the cup as well. She will only drink from the cheapy take and toss cups. I tried the Nuby cups and she would try to drink from them and get mad. I then would try a drink and they wouldn't work...I've heard this has happenend to many of my friends as well. Sippy cups are supposed to be a transitional thing anyway so don't get to stuck on it. Let your little one guide the way.

The Nuby is what my daughter prefers, but an alternative I've found are the juice containers in the baby section. You know, the one's that you attach a nipple or sippy lid to the top of. I use them for her, and even though they're disposable I reuse them. I throw them in the wash with the rest of the dishes and let her use it again. Plus, they aren't too big and they won't make a mess.

Every child is different. My 2 & 3 yr olds never used sippy cups. I had to try several different brands also until I bought some "sports cups", the lids have straws in them. They are in the section with all the different kinds of cups. They are a bit quick and kinda messy, but that's what my kids use. My 13 mo. uses a simple green & blue sippy cup with handles made by parents choice. Like I said every child is different. You might have to go through a lot of sippy cups until he accepts one.

yes, I was much the same. My kiddo refused to take a sippie after trying MANY, found the avent sippie cups. They are a little more expensive then gerber ect, but well worth it. ( about 8 dollers for 2 and sold at HEB) Avent sippie cups come in two sizes a 4oz and 8oz. I started with the small one giving something sweet like low sugar Ocean spray juice. That way every time I would give cup tot knew it was something, he liked. The first few days did not go so well, but about the third day he took it. After that moved over to the 8 oz cup, that was a year ago. My oldest boy is 4 yrs and youngest is 2 ( almost 3). We have moved on to the playtex big kid sippie, it does not have a spout, but a screw on lid. Niether of these sippie spilled and have little washers so the drink does not just pour out....good luck

Nuby has one that has a straw and handles. It is the best one I found when my son transitioned to a sippy cup. They sell them at Wal-mart. Good luck.

My kids share the Avent sippy cups. They can't bite thru them and you can buy them with optional handles. They can be hand-washed relatively easily and I've found them to be very sturdy.

My daughter who is 2 loves her playtex sippy cup. I have the princesses but thats because she is a girl.. They make ones for boys also.. They dont leak at all.. She still gets one in the middle of the night.. we are working on the breaking of that.. good luck

I use the Playtex Sipster. I won't say it never leaks, but doesn't very often. I know that for us it's also not a big deal because my 2 year old isn't allowed to have a drink anywhere except the kitchen and den (where we have tile floors). We try not to let her carry it around everywhere and when we're visiting someone it's "drinks in the kitchen only".

Okay, I've tried many! There are 2 that I love thus far -- one by Playtex, one by Gerber. I don't know how to tell you which ones they are but the Gerber used to come in only two colors, one with a bright green lid (and some kind of creatures drawn on the cup) and one with a pink lid (and butterflies). The Playtex cup has several colors (so we'll see if I can describe it) -- hard top, I have 2 different colors right now, yellow lid, pink cup & green lid, purple cup, also with things drawn on cups. Both great cups! The Playtex cup is better for children who chew the lids I think and you can replace the plastic piece that prevents spilling (which is nice when they become unable to clean, but I dishwash all of it). The one my daughter loves is the nuby's, but they've changed, so don't know how they are now. Other than those, she uses playtex!

Well my 14 month old likes the Nuby but he tears them and we also have Gerber the one with handles and it works great. We also have the crawler stage ones that don't have handles and he likes those too. We also have the hour glass shaped Gerber sippy cups. Those leak too but we still use them.

That for me is a trial and error issue.
odviously thiers thier no such thing as perfection, sooner or later you will just have to settle for the one that does the least damage , I myself have never had a problem with those things, course my kids learned real quick to use the cup without it.

But when you get the chance, try Gerber. if thats the ones that is messing up , then I have no clue, my kids are 14 and 15 now so it's been a while. but i do babysit from time to time and thats the one that did good for me.

If this is the least of your problems MaMa you are truly blessed, and please if it does work then please let me know, like I said it's been a while and i don't know if that product is still that good.
