We moved here from Austin this summer and there was a church there every year who did the Singing Christmas Tree. Is there anything like that here? It was always free and the kids really enjoyed it. Any other "can't miss" holiday events that aren't too expensive to be enjoyed around here?

Southcliff Baptist on I-20 near Hulen Mall has done a FABULOUS singing Christmas tree for years. I assume they are still doing it - I haven't seen it in a few years myself - but it is wonderful.

Every year, Grand Prairie has "Prairie Lights", a beautiful drive-through Christmas lights display located at Joe Pool Lake. You can go to www.prairielights.org for a video and more information. While Haltom City is a bit of a drive, I think your family would love it! Especially if your family is like mine. We love to drive the neighborhoods and look at the Christmas lights. Prairie Lights is like that, only about 1000 times better!

Enjoy!

Welcome to Fort Worth S.! I hope you are enjoying it here. There is a church in SW FW that does the Singing Christmas Tree...It is called Southcliff Baptist Church. It is right off Loop 820 and Granbury Road. Its not terribly far from Haltom City. The church's website is www.Southcliff.com
Also...the Parade of Lights which features the lighting of the Downtown Christmas tree is TONIGHT! Its the neatest parade of the year...it features floats from local businesses and charities all lit up! The best high school bands are also included. The lighting of the tree takes place right after the parade. The tree is on Main Street in Sundance Square in Downtown.
I know Austin has a neat Downtown....but ours is by far better and sooo much more family friendly!
Welcome! and Merry Christmas!
