Sing-along Dvd?
The Easter Bunny told me he would like to bring a sing-along dvd for my 2 and a half year old daughter. She has recently started singing all the time. I think a dvd with some kind of visual entertainment in addition to some great kiddie songs would be ideal. We have some of the Kidsongs series, which I would recommend because she loves them. What have your little ones enjoyed?

Veggies Tales sing along: Dance of the Cucumber is a good one. I think there are other Veggie Tales sing alongs besides that one as well.

Go with VEGGIE TALES!! You'll never regret it! The sing-a-longs are hilarious! And the regular movies are awesome with wonderful lessons! I can't say enough about them!

Check out the Rock n Learn series. I'm not sure that you can buy them in stores, but they have a website that lists all the titles. We have 4 or 5 different ones and my girls (5 and 2) LOVE them!

I second Veggie Tales, especially the Silly Songs compilation. As for Praise Baby, the bit I've seen might be a little young to still entertain your 2.5 yo. My 18mo is interested in them, my 3.5 yo not so much.

Hi! Nice to meet you! I have a little boy who just turned 3 who also loves to sing, but mostly only in front of me or by himself. I do think that the visual helps (I also am a teacher - elementary/spec. ed.). We don't have very many singing videos, but he has enjoyed Favorite Nursery Rhymes by Baby Genius, which includes a CD of the songs on the DVD as well as some additional songs. The other video that has some nice songs is Sesame Street's 25 Years: A Musical Celebration - this one has mostly songs that Sesame Street has made up and it's not probably not quite as easy to sing along to as the Baby Genius Nursery Rhymes. We haven't tried the Kidsongs series - I'll have to look into that:). Thx! K.

A great dvd is The Letter Factory by leapfrog. It teaches the kids their abc's and the sounds each letter makes while singing. My daughter is always singing the song and knows the sounds the letters make because of it. I really recommend it!

YO GABBA GABBA!!! our household is addicted to it!!!! i have a one year old son who has been loving this visually stimulating show since he was three months old. we noticed how he would just drop everything and become one with the tv when this how comes on. he still does it. he hears the little tone of the theme song and he runs from wherever he is to go see this show. the show is fun to watch, the songs are great, and each show has a theme. there are also lessons to be learned (dont bite your friends, keep your place clean, watch for germs, sharing, get up and move, discovery, etc) in a very fun and compelling way. of course you are probably already watching the show on nickelodeon or noggin. we have DVR'd all the episodes. the merchanidsing for this show is through the roof, which attests to the popularity of the show. as a matter of fact, we are gonna go watch it right now!
