Sign Language for Infants

Hello,
I am a mother of an 8 month old little boy, and I was looking for sign language classes in the area. Does anyone know of any, and if they have worked for a child that age. He wants so much to communicate and cant and ends up getting very frustrated that I don't know what he wants so he screams at me. I would like to make this situation better for both of us. Thanks

What can I do next?

My friend taught her son (now 1 year 3 months old) and the result was that her boy cries less because he's able to communicate his needs.

I have twin boys that are almost 8 months old and I have been wanting to start them on sign language. I went to the local libraries and borrowed the Baby Einstein - First Signs and First Words Around the House. The DVDs are helpful and I don't expect them to learn in only a week. I already knew some of the signs but didn't know how to teach it to the infants. A webpage on Parents.com was helpful in telling you how to teach a baby sign language. Just say and gesture at the same time consistently. I'd like to hear from moms who've successfully taught their child(ren) sign language. Good luck.

first ask your pediatrian or go to your local libriary and ask for sign language book for babies/beginners, or look up John Tracy centers in the internet.sorry for any mis-spelled words

Try Gymboree. They have sign language class.

Have you tried the DVD "Baby Einstein - First Signs." I have 6 grandchildren and have noticed a great deal of benefit to the ones that have learned sign language. So much less frustration and acting out.
