Should We Go to the Zoo Boo???

Hello moms..

I have a 1 year old and a 2 1/2 year old.. I have heard about the zoo boo going on at the detroit zoo. I was thinking of taking the kids.. has anyone gone to the zoo boo? is it worth the money? did your kids enjoy it? are my kids too young for the zoo boo?

What can I do next?

yes go - we loved it last year and will go again!
safe candy - not too much and a cute show :)

We have done the Zoo Boo and did not like it. You just walk in a big circle around the fountain and they gave out junk for candy. You didn't get to see any animals as they have that part sectioned off. We have gone to Crossroads Village now for 3 years and it is FANTASTIC. The houses are all open and decorated for trick or treating, they have a boat ride, a train ride, a carasol...My only advice is to buy your tickets ahead of time. This way you don't have to wait in line at the ticket counter. You can go right on thru. You will not be disappointed..I think we adults love it just as much as the kids.

Yes, you should go. My son is 2-1/2 and i will be taking him this year again. he had a great time. Nothing scary about it just a lot of cute things. It's worth the money and time.

Yes, go. It is a great time. It is fun for the little ones and at 2 1/2 your son will love it. There is a zoo boo review (a short, fun, non-scary musical) at the end. I threw out the candy (mostly cheap, hard) but we all had a blast. I wish we could go again this year.

I went last year with my 17 month old twins...and honestly, didn't think it was worth it. The candy and toys they handed out were inappropriate for their age. And the decorations were not what I expected. The show was OK, but you had to get there just as it started, wait until the next one, or you missed it (which we did). I'm sure you would have a good time, but I wouldn't have grand expectations. :)

Hi

We have been going since my son was 2. He loves it!! I now have a 4, 2 and 9 month old and we are going this year too.

I would try to schedule the earlier times since yours are young too. We always go at 6. That way it's just dark and a little warmer.

They have the route all decorated with crafty displays and there has never been anything really scary... all cute. There is also a show they put on and if you get there early enough to sit close it is really fun for the little ones to watch.

I think they would have fun. Just make sure you bring a wagon or stroller, it is a bit of a walk :)

God Bless
K.

My son was 1-1/2 when we went last year - we go to the zoo frequently and he did enjoy it, although he was really unsure of what was actually going on there. :) I'm sure we'll participate again this year.

Another fun Halloween thing (might be more exciting for your older child than your younger) is to do the Halloween thing at Crossroads Village Huckleberry Railroad. They have trick or treating in the village and also train & boat rides. Their train ride is 30-40 minutes long.... My son loves trains (he's 2-1/2) and enjoys going here, too. (Not just for Halloween, but throughout the summer.)
