Should I Buy the Car Seat Adaptor?

I have this stroller and did not buy the adaptor for the same reason. I figured we already spent so much on the stroller I could wait a few more weeks.
I bought the Kiddopatomus Snugli (sp?) from Babies r Us and waited until my little guy was 8 weeks old. I recline the seat as far as it can go and he is completely fine. The snugli keeps him in a good position. I'm not a big fan of keeping little ones in the car seat for long periods of time and we like to take long walks. (My friend says the snack tray is really high for the toddlers to reach, for what it's worth). He sleeps the whole time we're out. He's 11 weeks now.

Hi A., I'm Stacy's sister. I have the BOB and never used the carseat with it. I wasn't/aren't a big proponent of babies sitting in infant seats alot so my son only used it in the car. We were out and about pretty soon after he was born and I just reclined it all the way and he laid in the seat. A lot of time I also had him in a sling though too. Like you, I didn't want to spend so much for something that was used for so little time. I cushioned him with blankets or a JJCOle Bundle Me since he was born in the winter and that seemed perfect for him. I started running with him when he was six months old.

I bought the car seat adaptor and am so glad that I did. I was going back and forth too if I should get it because of the price, but then decided I wanted to go for walks right away and needed it. It actually worked out really well because it is also a snack tray/cup holder on the other side for my daughter. My daughter is two and often likes to bring a snack with her on our walks, along with her juice. Once my son is done using the car seat adaptor part, it comes with an extra part so that he also can have a snack tray/cup holder on his side. It is a little overpriced, but I am still happy that I have it, and I definitely get a lot of use out of it!

I would go to craigs lost and see if anyone is selling the adaptor. Hopefully cheaper than $90!!!! Good luck!!

Get a sling. Carrying baby is the easiest way to go. It will make your life so much easier.

My sister has the double bob and never had the car seat adaptor. she just put my nephew in teh seat with it all the way reclined.

I highly recommend the infant seat adapter. It's around $50-60 and I have gotten much use out of it. I also have a graco snap n' go but I use it primarily when running errands. For walking/fitness, the Bob is the way to go.

Yes. You need it. Otherwise the stroller is useless until your baby is much, much bigger. Our 11 month old girl still can't quite sit up in the stroller without slumping over, even with the straps tightened completely. It's not a stroller for an infant unless you use the adapter. Also, I know I did not pay $90 for the adapter. I think it was more like $45. You need to shop around a bit. We ordered ours online... can't remember where from. I might have ordered it from REI, since that's where we bought the stroller... do a google search and compare prices. But it should definitely NOT be $90....

I HIGHLY recommend the Graco Snap n Go. It's cheap $25 ish, you can usually find them at resale stores. All it is is a frame that you drop the car seat into. It has a basket underneath, collapses, usually comes with a drink holder and tray for you. So much cheaper and easier. And you'll use it every day for the first 6 months and then you'll be completely married to your other stroller. And at such a low price it's easy to let go.
