How do you keep your kids Keens from smelling bad?

What can I do next?

I throw them right into the washing machine with a load of regular laundry...come out looking brand new! I do let them air dray though.

You might try cornstarch..........and if his feet sweat a lot, try putting a pouch of rice in his shoes at night......rice draws out the moisture......(this works with wet cell phones and batteries too)

Good Luck.....as for the smell, have you tried Febreeze? The odor one......

Take care.

I sprinkle a little powder in my son's shoes and leave them in the garage to air out.

Baking soda in a fastened cheese cloth material. Drop it in the shoes when not being worn.
change out the BS every 8 weeks or so. Helps absorb moisture and odor. Also, set out in sun whenever possible. :)

I put a little odor eater powder in her Keens, and then about once a week or every other week (she wears her favorite pair A LOT), I give the inside a squirt with shout and throw it in the washing machine with other clothes. It really keeps them looking bright and smelling a heck of a lot better.

I wash the shoes let air dry,I also loosen the laces pull the tongues out to air out after use, they are all stored in a plastic open bucket by the back door if they get stinky I spray Febreeze,Lysol or whatever I have on them don't have much of an issue of them smelling,i'm sure they get wet on rainy days or jumping in a puddle make sure they air dry outside if unable to wash them right away or unwashable then sprinkle baby powder or baking soda for a little freshness before wearing them..

I just throw them in the washing machine with regular detergent and just a splash of distilled vinegar every few weeks. It doesn't totally take all the smell away, but it certainly improves it! Hope this helps.

We have the same problem. I can't believe how bad the shoes stink and my son's feet smell from these shoes. I have put powder on them and wash them in the washing maching often. However, as soon as they wear them once, the horrible smell is back. Strange that we didn't have this problem with Keens last summer.....
