Sharp Pain

im having sharp pain in my upper right abdomen right on top of my rib cage underneath my breast(upper external oblique?). wasnt sure if its just my expanding belly/uterus or what but even if i move the pain lingers. ive always contributed it to the baby being in my ribs but im not so sure anymore i feel her moving sideways in my belly, so?? im just not sure anymore. rubbing it doesnt help but i rub it and shake it a little bit just in case it is her to kinda push her down out of my ribs. and its always the right side NEVER the left. it happens alot and im just startin to get worried bc my MIL said something about my liver. husband seems to think im paranoid/hypocondriac lol but i dont remember having pain like this with my first child and i know every pregnacy is different but im still worried. any advice of experience? thanks in advance!
** i am due nov 23 but have a c-section planned for nov 16 and the pain is there regardless if im sitting, standing, walking anything. its not all the time but alot of the time had this pain since around 715 and it hasnt went away its almost 930 now

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Dr doesnt think theres anything seious wrong, he said my uterus is just getting big and its pushing everything anywere theyll fit, including my ribs lol

S., I get that same pain you're talking about. I asked my doc about it and he said it could be gall bladder stones. I'm scheduled for an abdominal ultrasound next week to see if I have stones. Maybe it's the same for you.

Could be a bruised or fractured rib? Baby could have kicked your liver too. Or maybe you pulled a muscle. Probably nothing to worry too much about, but you should mention it to your doctor.

Both of my pregnancies had that same pain starting about 1/2 way through. Nothing really relieved it except the delivery. Totally normal.

I was feeling the exact same thing in the same spot around the 26-27th week of my first pregnancy (I'm 37 weeks now) and I read that it's your abdominal wall separating and expanding to make more room for baby. But it kept continuing (even now) and I think it may be the baby's feet in my ribs? It usually is the most painful when I sit down for too long, and subsides if I lay down. Tylenol usually doesn't do anything. I think just riding it out is the best option.. I know how you feel! Good luck!

I have the same pain. With my 1st pregnancy I thought it was just the baby's foot in my ribs, but with this pregnancy (my 2nd) I asked the doc about it and she said it's just from the uterus growing and pushing your other organs out of the way. She said that's where your liver is and so my liver is just being pushed into my ribcage basically. It sounds exactly like what you're talking about, except if I lay down mine gets better, most of the time. My doc said if there were other symptoms with it, like nausea or anything else then it might be gallstones or something but since it's just the pain it's most likely just from the baby stretching out your body. Good times. =) Oh, and with my first it only happened for the like the last 3 weeks of pregnancy, but with this one I've had it for over a month now, and I'm not due till Jan! Ugh.

are you far enough along they are trying to turn to drop into the birthing canal?

sounds like feet. check with your doc to be sure, but it sounds like that baby is literally kicking you in the gut...good luck but check to make sure----you are NOT a hypochondriac.... take care

It sounds like it could be gallstones. You need to talk to your doctor about it ASAP. I had the same issue when I was pregnant with my son but I just figured it was normal pregnancy pain and just after he was born my gallbladder ruptured. It could also be a kidney infection or something wrong with your liver.
