Sharing Daycare
Hi all. I've posted before looking for childcare and after much time searching, I've decided to create the kind of daycare I was looking for. We have another parent of a 2 year old and a wonderful caregiver who is working with me to create a Waldorf-inspired daycare in our home in SE Minneapolis. We will have a safe and non-toxic environment, good organic food, and a day filled with opportunities for creative play with quality materials, music making, oral stories, circle time, and daily/weekly rythm & activities. I will be working from home and will be involved throughout the day and for outings. We see this as a collaborative effort to make a space for our children to have great care. If you would like to join us and share similar parenting approach, email me.

K. -
I have two girls - they are 23 months and 3 1/2 years old. I am interested in possibly starting them in daycare a couple days a week. I am sort of a stay-at-home mom - I have a business and work from home. I have been hesitant to put them in daycare because I have been able to juggle work around naps, working evenings, etc. Over the last couple years, however, my business has picked up and I'm finding that I need a little more time to work.
Could you tell me a bit more about your daycare? Also, where are you located? Are you willing to take kids on a part-time basis? What are your rates?
Thanks much!

Hi K., I moved to Apple Valley in July from Santa Fe, NM. I'm a SAHM to a 14-month old boy who has mildly delayed language skills, but he's very social and easygoing, has a long attention span and loves his swimming lessons. I tried him in regular daycare at about 10 months but it was a little early for him and the staff seemed overwhelmed at times and the food was atrocious (cut up cheese balls as a snack in the infant room). So I decided to wait until he was a little older and now he's ready to explore.
I plan to move closer to Minneapolis anyway next year, maybe Golden Valley, and wondered where you are located. If it's the right environment, it would be worth the drive for me.
Thank you and good luck with your new daycare.

I am a Sr. Fin Analyst looking for that type of day care setting for my 9 month old son on a pt basis. I am not sure what I can bring, but I would love for him/us to be a part of what you are planning.

What age children will you accept and what will the cost be?
Your childcare effort sounds fabulous and exactly what I would want for my daughter if I need Childcare. Currently my partner and I live in Longfellow and have an 11 week old daughter. We don't need childcare currently but maybe in the future. Thanks for any additional info.
