Hi Moms! I am considering signing up as a customer for either Melaleuca or Shaklee to receive the discount. I am hoping that you all might be able to help me figure out which company/products are better for my family. If you're familiar with these two companies, what are the major differences between the two? I'd love to hear any and all feedback about any experiences you've had with either. Thank you so much for your help!
Have a wonderful day!

So What Happened?

I just wanted to address Jennifer R's response. There are several reasons I would hands-down prefer to use Melaleuca or Shaklee products rather than items I might find at a store. First of all, I enjoy shopping online whenever I can because I am a busy mom with two little kids! And, I would always prefer to support a fellow mom in her home-based business endeavor! I think it's important to help out our fellow moms. Plus, it's no more expensive than shopping at a store and trying to get the kids in and out, and pay for extremely expensive gas! And, I've found that these types of companies tend to have much higher quality products than what you might find in the store. :)

I'm sorry for what might be my obvious ignorance, but what is wrong with all the other green products on the shelves - Seventh Generation, Method, Green Works?? -- thanks for the info. BTW - Shaklee, Seventh Generation & Method were all given kudos on Oprah - if that makes a difference. I had never heard of Shaklee before that. I think they were giving 30% off their starter pkg if you mention that you saw the episode.

Hi M.. I live near Cottonwood Mall. Been involved in natural healing for about 30 years. Am currently LMT. Been involved with Shaklee, Melaleuca, and Amway in past years. Without disrespecting good aspects of other companies, I have been most impressed with Young Living integrity, education, and products for 12 years. In my opinion, YL is a cut above all else. Safe for adults, babies, pets. Therapeutic-grade essential oils used in most products. Powerful therapeutic-grade essential oils, singles and blends; nutritional supplements par excellance; pure and safe household cleaning products; personal care for entire family including line for babies and children; natural pet care; professional massage oils. 'Can't say enough, best I've found in decades. Great network of wholistic-minded professionals and dedicated moms and dads. Happy to share info. Call me ###-###-####.

Hey, M.. I've used Melaleuca in the past and have loved it, but I'm not familar with Shaklee. Sorry. I hope you're enjoying your time in Albuquerque. I too have moved here and there during my years of marriage. The west coast is the only time zone we haven't lived in! I enjoy making new friends and just thought I'd welcome you to the city. Brook

Hey M.,

I'm curious as to what products you're considering from Shaklee vs. Melaleuca. I use to be in Melaleuca (before Arbonne), but I don't know much about Shaklee. If you'd like, I can put you in touch with my SIL whom is a Melaleuca rep.

HI M.,
I have used Melaleuca and it was ok. My sister used to sell it but you had to buy in large quantities which didn't work for me. The vitamins were not good quality and rated very low in the Supplement Comparative guide. As far as Shaklee, I only know that their supplements also rated low and they were not cheap. One of my clients was taking them and she is now on Usana which are the best in the world and you can get them at 30% off if you are on autoship. They also have skin and hair products that are Paraben free. They also have a program designed for diabetics which has a side affect of weight loss. If you have health problems, this is the way to turn your life around. It's preventative medicine. It's all about Health if you are concerned about your family. If you are a stay at home mom, this is also a buisiness opportunity you would not want to pass up. Please check out the website Usana.com. If you want more info, contact me at ____@____.com
Usana doesn't sell household products.
I live in Albuquerque too! We're on the Westside.
Hope to hear from you.

HI M.!

My name is M. and I am with Melaleuca. I looked into both companies before I joined Mela and fond them to be the best fit for me. If you are just joining for the products I believe Mela is the best. They are all natural, made from Melaleuca oil, which is the purest form of tea tree oil. There are several different uses for their products. You can use their tub and tile cleaner to clean your jewlery, you can boil some water and use their Sol-U-Mel as a decongestion aid by breathing in the steam. You can make baby wipes. They pride themselves on being safe for kids and dogs. All the products are concentrated so you use less of them. Shaklee has good products but not one of the reps I spoke with told me I could use these items for everyday things like I mentioned. I also compare the pricing and thought the mlea was a little bit cheaper. That can be important when chosing which to go for. I hope this helps. If you need someone to help you sign up please e-mail at ____@____.com and I will be more then happy to walk you through the sign up process.

I am a customer of Melaleuca and I love the products. You do get a great discount, they are safer products, you save money, you can cancel at any time with no hassle and they give you advantage dollars that are banked each month, to me its like a savings account and they send you a check each month just for being a customer!!!!!!!!!!

I've had experience with both companies, have no specific problems with either one. My preference in terms of products is with Melaleuca. In reference to both companies, and all other multi-level companies that I've been involved with and have subsequently dis-involved with, my problem is with the monthly purchase requirement. Also, I don't like having to pressure friends and family and then total strangers for down-line purchasers. For my money, I choose NOT to involve myself with multi-level schemes. In any case, best luck with your decision.

After reading the Amway response, I can only say, from my experience, I would avoid having anything to do with Amway. My experience with Amway is that it is predominantly Christian dominated--I have no problems with the Christian belief system, but I do want to note that I am offended with their masquerading under soaps and other cleaning products to expand their belief system. If they truly want to keep people clean, maybe they need to address their own mentalities.

Hi M.,
I also live in Albuq. and am a Melaleuca customer. I also work in environmental health and know a lot about the science of various products. My family loves the Mel. products. I think they are a great value for the price. As you wish to compare, there are several brands of non-toxic products to choose from. One of the great differences with Melaleuca is the incredible income opportunity that I think is unmatched by anyone. I'd be happy to find a time to chat over the phone or even meet in person to talk to you about about Melaleuca and what you are looking for. Visit my site and let me know how I can contact you. www.LivingOurDreams.org

P.S. My son Antonio is 3 yrs old and I am from upstate NY and my wife is from Panama. We should meet sometime soon. Welcome to town!

I am off your topic just a hair as I feel it would be a dis-service not to mention the original "green" company and the founder of the mutivitamin... AMWAY Global. Give me 10 minutes of your time in front of a high-speed internet connection (in-person or over the phone) before you make up your mind.

Regardless of your choice, I'd love to show you our lines and earn your business as a client.

Sincerely;

Kurt

I have been using Shaklee products for many years and chose this company, because their products are always safe, have always been green (Shaklee created some of the original Earth Day products)and always work. Out of all the companies I looked at only Shaklee had published clinical studies (over 90!) proving that their supplements and products are effective: http://www.clinicals.shaklee.com/

Shaklee offers its members and associates a fabulous on line library and telephone conference calls where they can get help with health issues, children, and building a business. The famous "Landmark nutritional study" that was conducted at California University's school of public health ( Berkley) showed that the control group taking Shaklee supplements had better health than the other two groups involved in the study. Hi there M.,

I have been a Shaklee customer and independent distributor for many years and don't know much about Melaleuca except that a couple of my Shaklee friends switched from Mel. to Shaklee. What I can tell you is that Shaklee has stood the test of time, 60 years pioneering the green movement, and natural health field. They are one of the only companies whose nutritional products have been clinically tested for effectiveness with results published in over 90 peer review medical and nutrition journals. No other company I know of can provide proof of published studies on their particular products.

Shaklee is committed to creating products that are always safe, always work, and always green. The Barnett family that owns Shaklee bought the company after trying the cleaning products stopped their three year old son from having asthma attacks. Shaklee's wide variety of products make it very easy for families to simply switch brands and there is a special support and teaching group for moms who are working from home, using the Shaklee products. They share info. via conference calls.

Finally, Shaklee is a company with a conscience. When a recent order of mine was accidentally sent to my old address and I had to wait two weeks for it to get here the rep. that helped me sent me two FREE products of my own choice (a total of $90.00 worth) for the inconvenience of the whole thing. Shaklee's products also have a 100% money back guarantee, but then I've rarely had to return anything - they are just excellent products. Hope this helps some - S.
