Severe Sinus Infection, Lupus

Hi mama friends,
Any ideas that will help with this sinus problem? Its the worst. It will be 12 days Saturday the 7th. Lost virtually all smell and taste, and now although it seems more dry up there, the headache is painfull to the point of nausea all day today. I have taken a lot of advil and excedrin to keep the
nausea at bay. I had used the neti pot (sinus rinse) for a few days, but then stopped. I also stopped taking any sudafed type drug, b/c both those things were causing burning pain in my poor sinuses. Has anyone had this problem? I waited in bed all day for my doc to call me back and he didn't. :( So I'm throwing myself a pity party. I have lupus which has been acting up also. I am actually very natural oriented, and took all this stuff out of despiration. Any ideas, empathy and prayers are welcome.

What can I do next?

I'm not sure about this recommendation so before you try it please check with someone who deals with natural medicine and has experience with Lupus. I had a sinus infection and used a product called DAG which was purchased through my chiropractor. It's an irish moss... it STINKS...but it worked. So I'm passing this on to you so you can seek it out. DO NOT take Echinacea with Lupus in case you didn't know or if someone recommends it. It will make your symptoms worse.

Here is the name of the chiropractor who works with other medical issues as well. Dr. Richards. She is in Glendora which would be one heck of a drive for you, but I feel it would be well worth it.

Try to avoid getting stressed. stess is very bad. ask yourself, is anything around the house diffrent?(changed perfume, laundry soap, any new pets ,diffrent soap or shampoo , AnyThing . i dont know what stage your in but my mothers lupus is affected by heat, cant be exposed to sunlight, that really makes her sick we even have too get special light bulb in the house cause some were making her sicker. hope this info can help and hope u feel better!

If your going to try accupuncture like recommended.
Andrew Lee is a fantastic Accupunturist near Henry Mayo- he helped my son when no one else could.
Then my husband went to him and he has had no reaccuring problems either.

L., I work with a whole food supplement that is completely natural and research proves that it will enhance your immune system. That way it could help you fight off this and future sinus infections. Also, it could help balance out your B and T cells, which would help your Lupus. You are welcome to check out my website at www.marymortonrn.com to see if you are interested. I highly recommend it. It has made a tremendous difference with my health. I have a lot of allergies and would frequently end up on antibiotics. Since I've been taking Juice Plus+ I have not been on any antibiotics and now I am happily off all allergy medications. Juice Plus+ is basically 17 fruits, vegetables and grains in capsules.
I am 48, have 4 children also and recently retired from being a Labor & Delivery nurse. We have some things in common :)

Have you tried Accupuncture? I see my accupuncturist for many different things, especially sinus related pain/allergies. I go to Atlas Healthcare in Encino. Good Luck.
