Sensitive Skin Freaking Out!

Hi moms,
I badly need some skincare advice...
My face is going nuts...My sensitive/combination skin seems to be rejecting my usual skincare line (Aveda sensitive), which normally works great at keeping away most blemishes. But lately it seems my skin hates that and nothing else I try seems to work for me. I'd love some suggestions for reasonably priced (nothing in the $60 & up range please) cleansers & moisturizers from any other sensitive/combination skin moms out there!

Oh, and I do try and drink lots of water, avoid chocolate (mostly), and I've already tried Aveda, Prescriptives, Cetaphil, Philosophy, Purpose, Proactiv, Md Formulations, Mac, Lancome, and Clinique...among others...

Thanks so much!

So What Happened?

Moms, thanks so so much for taking time out of your busy days to give me your recommendations! I found a combination that seems to be working wonders for my skin right now... For the most part, I came up with this solution on my own, and thought I'd try these products just on a whim one day while out grocery shopping (thanks again to Robin for the soap advice :). So to any other highly sensitive moms out there looking for a good regimen, the dream team for me right now is Aveeno oatmeal cleansing bar, followed by witch hazel astringent, Aveeno Ultra-Calming nighttime moisturizer, and Loreal Revitalift eye cream, along with Aveeno exfoliating cleanser 2-3 times a week. I couldn't believe drugstore brands would be the answer to my sensitive skin woes, but sure enough it's just what my skin needed! I can't say enough about Aveeno (especially the moisturizer). It's gentle enough and moisturizing enough, yet isn't clogging my pores or making my skin over oily, just extremely soft and smooth and clear. Hope my search can help out someone else who might read this. Thanks again, moms, for your time!

I have very sensitive skin and I used Dove Soap and Oil of Olay till about three months ago. I just decided to try something a little more sophisticated. But to tell you the truth, I am 44 and Dove Soap, Oil of Olay is fantastic and my skin is healthy and no one ever guesses my age.
I've tried Arbonne... it did nothing for me. I've tried a few others too.
I saw a dermatologist regularly up North for moles, etc and he recommends Dove Soap and Oil of Olay... FYI Dove is one of the best Ph balanced soaps AND the combo is under $15.

K.,
I'm wondering if it's hormonal changes. You don't say how old you are but with 3 kids your body has been through alot. Maybe you need to ask your doctor next time you visit or go to a dermatologist.

A dermatologist might try to sell you their skin care line but Dr. Lucy Li of Coppell and Frisco is very good. Straight to the point, tells you the plan for fixing your problem and she'll tell you she has skin care, but doesn't push it.

I do use and sell Beauticontrol because I love it and if you want to try the Sensitive Solutions, I'm happy to let you do so, but I think a visit to the dr. would be a good idea before you spend your money on anymore products.

My skin tends to freak out during hormonal swings...During pregnancy, after the baby comes, etc....I use Nicole Miller (more natural, safe, w/pharmaceutical grade vitamins that actually help your skin! I've been using the cosmetics & facial cleansers for about a year and a half. :)

Hi
I use the Arbonne product line. I have sensitive dry skin. I've tried Clinique, Shiseido, Nordstrom Spa products, and a few others. I find that Arbonne is great on my skin and not too expensive. I stick to their facial cleanser and face creams (3 products). They all have clean scents with hint of citrus. I can't recall the prices right now but I did buy them separately.

If you're interested I can get you the number to the nice lady who started me on Arbonne. I do not sell it but I did end up becoming a non-selling consultant so I could get the discount. I've been using it for about 2 years now. I also use the baby line: bath cleanser and lotion for my sons....one has eczema.

Good luck making a choice.

Hi K. I use Mary Kay products & sell them. My friend has
the same types of problems w/her skin. They have several
products like acne treatment gel, oil mattifier, beauty blotters, plus they have lotions for specific skin types.
If you're interested LMK & I can give you a discount. I know it can be frustrating, good luck.

Have you tried Arbonne products? The products are great. I've tried just about everything out there and Arbonne is the only thing that has worked for me. I've even used stuff that the dermatologist has recommended and it didn't work. I know it can be so frustrating!
Arbonne's products are botanically based, don't use mineral oils, frangrances, chemicals, animal by-products, etc. The results have been amazing. I would be happy to share some samples with you. You can check them out on my website www.foravibrantlife.myarbonne.com and you can email through my website and I would love to get them for you at a discount.

You are not specific about what is actually happening with your skin. However, making all the changes you have may be part of the problem if you have Rocesea. Check it out on the net and see a dermatologist.

If you are looking to buy Arbonne, I'll give you 35% off your first order (just remind me I told you this!!). You'll have to contact me directly (instead of ordering from my site) so that I can give you the discount.

The acne line is the safest line (per skindeep.com) and is pretty cheap compared to the others. The Intelligence line is geared to people under 30 yo, and the RE9 NutriMinC line is the most expensive, but works wonders for the anti-aging process.

Arbonne's products are all botanically based, they don't use animal bi-products, they are PH correct, they don't use mineral oils, and are never tested on animals.

Let me know if you'd like samples! I can send you some!

I have the same skin!! If the products are too drying i'll break out, if they are too oily, i'll break out!!
I have been using Arbonne's Intelligence line for about a year and love it! I've only bought the complete set once (about $100, for 5 products, i believe) and then have only bought the face wash about every 3months or so.
Let me know if you'd like to try it, i can send you some samples.
Take care!
