Selling Avon

hello ladies. i'm a struggling mom and had asked you all what i could possibly do without missing anytime away from my daughter and someone suggested Avon. So i'm now a representative, but don't have very many friends and afraid that this won't take off. the person who signed me up, said she was in my shoes once and gave me some pointers and i will try those out, but my question to you all is, do any of you know a safe website where i can put my information and website? I really think this can take off and be good for us, i just need a little more help.

J.,

I used to sell Avon years ago. I went around to the local hairdressers and asked if I could leave Avon sales books there. I generated a lot of business that way. Also, I went to the second hand clothing stores and a few of them would leave a few catalogs on thier counter for me where they could be seen. It cost a bit for the extra sales books but it did pay off. Make friends with the owners of these places, you will be surprised at how well you will do.

Hi J.,
I really hope this works out for you! I love, love, love Avon and can honestly say I have a bit of an addiction. :)
Is there a craigslist site for your area? Maybe you can post there. I know the few times I have put things on craigslist, I was completely stunned at the amount of traffic it gets and the responses I received.
Also, you could try some free classified publications in your area. I know here in Raleigh, we have a very popular free local newspaper that will let you advertise at no cost.
Good luck!

what about starting a myspace page for your avon business. or ask some local small businesses if you can put your books and business cards in their waiting areas. a lot of bueaty or tanning salons will let you do that if you agree to hand out there business cards too.

you're young and vibrant, i would make a myspace page and include it in there. then try to "add" as many friends as possible in your target audience. start there and it will take off. on top of that, talk about it all the time without overtalking it to those closest to you...they will get burnt out if you rely complrtely on them for your income! what a great way to get to know new women!! best of luck to you!

Check with the rep that got you started; there is a way to create your own page linked with Avon's website.

Some suggestions on where to leave some books:
Laundramat
Hair Salons
Diners
Workout Clubs
Senior Citizens Centers
Doctor's offices

Always get permission from proprietors, but most will accommodate you if there isn't already somebody leaving the Avon books there.
If you go to church let your friends know that you're now selling Avon and bring books for them.
I have heard of people leaving them in mailboxes in their own subdivision or park, but I'd find out if there are any restrictions in your neighborhood.

Lots of luck!! I used to sell Avon for extra bucks and the products when my daughter was young. I tease her to this day after over 25 years that she helped me sell a lot of bubble bath, lipsticks, and hand creams!!! LOL

I noticed this while at work one night- avon reps putting their books on mailboxes (where the flag is-in between the flag and box itself) to advertise their name and number.(Putting IN the mailbox is illegal) I don't know what kind of development you live in, but it's worth a shot to get your name and number out there. Just remember the weather as your main factor. Don't wanna ruin those books because of the rain :)
